CM Punk has become the WWE sensation in the past few weeks for his much-hyped return. One of the biggest faces in the professional wrestling industry, he established a name for himself in the Stamford-based promotion. Standing on the ideals of his straight-edge personality, he built a massive fan base for himself.
In the nine years that Punk has served in WWE, he has had multiple championship runs. Amidst a glorious career, his release from the company shocked many fans. While his relationship with the company started getting stained in the last few years of his first stint with the company, he did not part ways until 2014.
CM Punk did not leave WWE on good terms in the past. Despite being the top star of the division, Vince McMahon never gave Punk the chance to main event any WrestleMania during his peak years. On the other hand, Punk knew of his capabilities and demanded a well-deserved booking, but in vain. Standing up to his heel persona and trash talking, he went ahead to diss the company.
After dealing with CM Punk’s tantrums for a long time, Vince decided to put an end to it. The former WWE CEO sent his release papers to his home on the day of his wedding. This ruined the last of his relationship with Vince McMahon and the two parted ways beyond the WWE ring. Now that Vince McMahon is out of the company, Punk is expected to do exceptionally well in the ring.
CM Punk returns to WWE at Survivor Series 2023
The entire WWE Universe is currently on the edge of their seats as CM Punk marks his return to WWE after nine long years. The Survivor Series at the Allstate Arena, Illinois had been the best place to mark the legendary return. Being his home city, fans were almost convinced that the ‘Cookie Monster’ was returning for sure.
As soon as the main event of the PLE concluded, Punk made an entrance amidst a deafening Chicago crowd. The speculations, rumors and teases that rumbled the WWE Universe in the past month finally bore fruit. While Punk did not reveal anything about his upcoming feuds and angles, his presence was enough to make the WWE Universe happiest before 2023 closes.
