SUMMARY
- Max Caster, who is an AEW wrestler, made an appearance for WWE.
- For his appearance, Caster apparently earned only $500.
Max Caster is currently a member of AEW. In the Tony Khan-led promotion, he thoroughly entertains the fans as a part of a tag team named ‘The Acclaimed’. Also, his tag team partner is Anthony Bowens.
Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that on the May 21, 2018, episode of Monday Night RAW, Max Caster appeared on WWE television. During that, he was featured as one of Bobby Lashley’s onscreen sisters. With that, the AEW star recently talked about his not-so-great WWE appearance.
Caster recently appeared for a conversation with Chris Van Vliet. During that, he was asked, “Can we talk about your appearance in WWE? You said you hadn’t been signed there but you appeared there.” To this, Max replied, “I suppose. I have never acknowledged it, but go on.” Chris then said that he played the role of one of Bobby Lashley’s sisters.
Max said, “Sure. You know, young wrestler, hungry, $500, you know a quick drive, 3 hours, the catering is great, what else could you ask for”. He then mentioned that, according to him, other aspiring wrestlers would have also taken that booking. Caster added that it was a last-minute thing and stated that WWE management had called and asked him to come to RAW.
He revealed that he had no idea what they wanted him to do, but they told him he would have to wear a dress. Max added, “You’re getting paid, you’re getting on TV. I’m like ‘This will be good for my career’.” He mentioned that Sami Zayn had dressed up three men to lure Bobby Lashley to the ring and thought it was “very cartoonish.”
The AEW star then stated that the segment where he appeared sometimes gets brought up as one of the worst segments on WWE television. However, Caster revealed that, according to him, he did a great job. Thus, while Caster’s WWE appearance failed to impress the fans, he was self-satisfied with it.
What happened during Max Caster’s appearance in WWE?
During the May 21, 2018 episode of WWE RAW, Sami Zayn was all set to interview Bobby Lashley’s Kayfabe sisters. The segment featured Zayn coming down to the ring. Thereafter, he invited Lashley’s sisters, Cathy, Frances, and Jessica. It is worth mentioning that Max Caster played the role of Frances.
After the sisters came down to the ring, Zayn asked Cathy why did she hit Lashley with a broom. Cathy then mentioned that Bobby used to bully her, so she smashed him with a broom. Thereafter, Sami interviewed Frances, who had a mustache and was carrying a helmet.
Frances, aka Caster, stated that he used the helmet to smash Bobby so that he would stop hitting Frances on the head. Thereafter, Jessica revealed that she was carrying a towel because Lashley would make her cry.
Soon, Bobby Lashley came out and took shots at his sisters. Thereafter, Zayn, along with the sisters, attacked Lashley. However, Bobby gained the upper hand and took all of them out. He attacked Frances, Cathy, and Jessica, while Zayn quietly went backstage.
Thus, it seems Max Caster was part of an interesting segment. However, the segment failed to draw the attention of the fans and failed to become memorable.
Why did Max Caster choose AEW over WWE?
While Max Caster previously made an appearance on WWE television, he later chose to sign a deal with AEW. With that, fans might wonder why Caster chose the Tony Khan-led promotion over the Triple H led promotion. Meanwhile, during his recent conversation, Chris Van Vliet asked him, “What was it about AEW that was much more appealing?”
To this Caster mentioned that AEW had a guy on Dynamite who participated in a match on one of the live shows. However, he later signed with WWE. He added that Tony Khan then got to know that WWE was interested in signing him.
Caster said, “WWE had been interested in me. I did a couple of shows and that’s when they called me and I go ‘Oh okay this might be it’ and then I think AEW got wind of that and then they go in my opinion, ‘let’s swoop in on these guys and take this guy that they want’ .”
Max then compared working as an extra at AEW with working as an extra for WWE. He said, “I think I changed in the men’s locker room as opposed to a curtained-off area at the back of the arena.” The AEW star then mentioned that Tony Khan has proposed to him the idea of putting him and Anthony together and giving them the name ‘The Acclaimed’.
Caster further revealed that he didn’t yet have a deal with WWE. On the other hand, he was given a contract by AEW; he said that he had faith in him and Anthony and chose to go with AEW. Thus, it can be understood that Caster liked AEW’s environment more than WWE and also wanted to go along with Tony’s proposal. So, he chose AEW over WWE.
Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that in AEW, Caster previously became a one-time AEW World Tag Team Champion with Anthony Bowens. Also, he won the AEW World Trios Championship once. With that, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for him in the Tony Khan-led promotion. Also, his fans will definitely look forward to witnessing Caster make any other appearances in WWE.
