Ryan Garcia has been an intriguing case in the past few weeks owing to numerous controversies. Initially starting off with his alcohol and weed usage coming to light, things have since progressed into conspiracy territory. With the fighter talking about things like Bohemian Grove and more, the fans and everyone involved seem rather confused.
Recently, Ryan Garcia’s erratic behavior took a turn when he came across the recently deleted episode #410 of IMPAULSIVE. Hosted by Logan Paul and Mike Majlak, the episode had British YouTuber and PRIME Hydration co-founder KSI. During a segment, Logan and KSI discussed Garcia and his recent ‘off-key’ behavior. As it turns out, the boxer seemingly took offense to this, unleashing into a Twitter/X tirade shortly afterward.

The difference between alcohol and prime is one says it can kill you the other claims it’s healthy meanwhile it’s killing you.

As such, Ryan Garcia decided to then aim at their brainchild, PRIME Hydration by bringing up the recent Class Action lawsuit against the brand. Further, he even started #DontDrinkPrime and X spaces to trash the drink further. Notably, he even made a comparison between PRIME being more dangerous than alcohol. Lastly, he would go on to label PRIME as the ‘Death Drink’.
Who all have had negative reviews about PRIME Hydration like Ryan Garcia?
For the most part, Ryan Garcia is hardly the first person to ever talk ill of PRIME Hydration. In the past, we’ve seen numerous athletes and personalities come out, sharing their thoughts on the drink. Despite this, the hydration drink remains one of the most popular and fastest-growing brands in the market. Owing to the hype garnered by the co-owners and their signees, PRIME reported $1.2 billion in sales revenue last year.
With that said, its popularity has also attracted a lot of hate and criticism. First on the list has to be Dillon Danis, who was seen trashing the drink ahead of his fight against Logan Paul. Similarly, we’ve also had British celebrity chef and restaurateur Gordon Ramsay who stated that ‘it tastes like perfume’ on a radio show. However, the list also includes health experts as well.
Previously, fitness and health YouTubers James Smith and Derek from More Plates More Dates also did a deep dive into the drink. As per their research, they were able to conclude that the drink is not for ‘energy’ or ‘hydration’ as it does not possess the necessary requirements for it. This was also furthered by Jordan Sullivan, who is the nutritionist of Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski, who are signed to PRIME as well.
PRIME Hydration sponsors and athletes
Despite the open criticisms against it, it has to be said that PRIME Hydration is one of the biggest marketing and sales achievements from a brand in recent history. In order to further grow their beverage, Logan Paul and KSI have further theorized and developed ingenious strategies to garner and draw in a bigger audience. Be it via marketing gimmicks, open public challenges, or by making signings, they have done it all.
Since its inception, PRIME Hydration has gone on to sign with numerous promotions, sports teams, and athletes. Initially, the brand signed with popular soccer teams Arsenal FC, FC Barcelona, and FC Bayern Munich. Thereafter, they’ve delved into signing athletes from different sports and popular streamers as well. As such, the list of signees includes Erling Haaland, Terence Crawford, Shakur Stevenson, Auston Matthews, and Patrick Mahomes.

Additionally, they are the official partners of the UFC and the WWE, two of the biggest combat sports promotions in the world. Similarly, their recent sponsorship and signings include LA Lakers, Rafael Leao, and UK rapper and artist, Central Cee. All things considered, PRIME looks set to continue its unrivaled growth for the foreseeable future, despite what Ryan Garcia has to say.
