WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury might not be able to make a quick turnaround after his bout this weekend. The Gypsy King is scheduled to take on former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou this weekend in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. While the news of this crossover fight is already a huge deal for fight fans, Fury decided to announce an even bigger fight.
After finishing his business with the MMA fighter, Tyson Fury has agreed to fight Oleksandr Usyk. The fight will decide the undisputed heavyweight champion and might even take place by the end of this year. However, during his recent interview, Tyson has addressed the possibility that he might not fight Usyk on December 23.
Although the fight with Usyk takes place very soon after the exhibition bout, the Brit’s fight camp is not worried. The 33-0-1 boxer is all focused on the Cameroonian and will only then pay attention to whatever comes next. Additionally, he is also ready to postpone his fight against Usyk if he faces any grave injury this weekend.
“People say are you a bit nervous about getting injured or cut or whatever, I couldn’t give a f**k. If I get a 15-inch cut on top of me face and I can’t do the fight on December 23 so be it,” said Tyson.
After his recent interview, Fury has very much made it clear that he does not intend to pull back punches and play it safe. The 35-year-old might go in guns blazing and finish Ngannou very early in the fight.
Tyson Fury predicts knocking out Francis Ngannou inside six rounds
WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is considered one of the best boxers in the heavyweight division. Although the 6-foot 9-inch boxer is a huge favorite going into the fight, he is not taking his opponent lightly. Fury is aware that Ngannou has the one-punch knockout power but happens to be highly confident in his skills.
The Gypsy King has predicted that he will knock out Francis within six rounds and walk away with ton of money. Additionally, the Brit also broke down the exact technique that he would use to drop Ngannou on the canvas.
“I’m going to knock him out inside six rounds. I’ll get on the front foot, high arm, catch him with a punishing jab, 19/20 stone in the face. Bust him up, swell his eyes out and bang, KO. On the front foot, not running away. These heavyweights don’t stand a chance,” said Tyson Fury.
After hearing Tyson’s prediction, Ngannou simply scoffed and warned the Brit to not get over his head. The former MMA champion advised his opponent to tuck his chin properly to avoid huge injury early on in their fight.
With the epic crossover fight getting closer every day, fight fans are highly anticipated for this bout. Do you think Tyson Fury makes easy work of his opponent on October 28? Let us know your opinions in the comments below.
