PSG has found itself in dire straits as Neymar has been ruled out for the rest of the season. The PSG star is set to be out of action for at least three to four months. This rules out Neymar‘s availability for PSG in the upcoming Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

Neymar got injured last month during PSG’s Ligue 1 tie against Lille. The Brazilian star had to be carried off the pitch following a horrible tackle from Lille’s Benjamin Andre. A tearful Neymar left the pitch on a stretcher after sustaining an ankle injury. Later tests revealed that the Brazilian had sustained a sprained ankle. While it was suspected that Neymar might miss the upcoming Bayern clash, the situation has gotten worse for PSG.

In a recent statement released by PSG, the club revealed that Neymar would have to undergo surgery on his ankle. The statement reads, “Following his last sprain contracted on Feb. 20, the medical staff … recommended a ligament repair operation to avoid a major risk of recurrence. All the experts consulted have confirmed this necessity. ” Neymar’s absence would be a huge miss for PSG, as the French club faces Bayern this week.

PSG has announced that the former Barcelona star would have the surgery in Doha, Qatar. The French club lost the first leg 1-0 to the German side, with former PSG star Kingsley Coman scoring the only goal. Although PSG will have Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in the team, the Brazilian star’s injury might prove to be costly for PSG.

Fans react as Neymar vows to “come back stronger”

For Neymar, it will be yet another disappointing end to the season. Over the last nine years, Neymar has consistently been either injured or suspended on eight occasions during this time of the season, especially in March. Soccer fans suspect that Neymar’s injury is related to her sister, Rafaella. Fans think that Neymar gets injured or suspended on purpose for Rafaella’s birthday, which is on March 11.

Here’s what fans have to say about Neymar’s injury:

that’s the result of referees not protecting him being maliciously kicked & fouled over basically a decade. He deserved so much more 💔

If he had reduced his diving and rolling around a bit maybe, Messi is the only player I have seen that has been protected by the refs in the past.

Neymar could’ve finished his career as the 5th best ever to do it (behind Messi, Ronaldo, Pele, Maradona)

But a poor career move and injuries have ruined that 💔

It is unfortunate that Neymar’s season has come to such a sudden end. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the pitch soon.

Neymar’s injury has once again started a huge debate on the Internet. While many fans still think that Neymar’s injury looks suspicious, some fans have sympathized with the Brazilian international. Some fans have even blamed Neymar’s move to PSG for his misfortunes, branding it as a “poor career move.”

Although, this season, Neymar’s injury certainly doesn’t look suspicious or sustained on purpose. However, Neymar recently took to Instagram to post a short message to his fans following the news of his surgery. Neymar promised fans he will “come back stronger“. However, unfortunately, Neymar can only be a spectator for this season, and hope that PSG will be able to finally win the Champions League trophy, albeit without him.
