Harry Kane broke a 59-year-old record in Germany after another display of his attacking prowess. The English forward scored a hat trick in Bayern Munich’s demolition of Vfl Bochum in front of the home fans in Allianz Arena.
The England international now has seven goals in five league matches. He now boasts the record for most goals scored by a player in Bayern Munich’s history in the first five league matches.

The record was first set by the legendary Gerd Müller back in 1964 who scored five goals in his first match with the German club. Muller’s record was later matched by Miroslav Klose in 2007 and Mario Mandzukic in 2012. Kane is now the outright holder of the record.
In all competitions, Kane has scored eight goals and four assists in all competitions for the German club. The forward is paying early dividends for the $127 Million transfer fee paid by the German club to Tottenham Hotspur for his transfer.

Bayern Munich was in need of a world-class striker since the departure of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona back in 2022. The German club’s number-one priority in the summer transfer window was landing a world-class striker. Kane was their top target for the summer, which played into the hands of Tottenham, who were able to leverage a high transfer fee for their prized possession.
Harry Kane signed a four-year contract with the German club in the hope of landing major titles such as Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League.
Harry Kane’s latest Hat trick does not count in Germany
The English forward is off to a record-breaking start in Munich but has to wait a little longer for a hat trick as per a bizarre German rule.
In Germany, in order for a hat trick to be counter, it has to be scored in the same half of the match and consecutively. It means that if any player scores between the three goals, it won’t be counted as a hat trick in German records.
A new one for the collection! ⚽️⚽️⚽️

In the latest outing, Harry Kane scored two goals in one half and the third goal in the second half, furthermore, there were three scorers between his first and last goal. Therefore, as per German records, this won’t be counted as a hat trick for the English striker.
However, Harry Kane was not bothered by this minor detail, as he tweeted a photo with a match ball after the match.
He has fitted well into Thomas Tuchel’s system at Bayern Munich and has been impressed by Jamal Musiala and Thomas Muller during his first month at the German club.
Bayern Munich and Harry Kane will now focus on a midweek fixture against Preussen Münster in the DFB Pokal Cup.
