Alphonso Davies is one of the most loved characters in the FC Bayern fan community. The Canadian is a very jolly figure on and off the pitch and is celebrated by millions of Bayern fans worldwide.
The fans have also been impressed by his terrific performances on the pitch, in addition to his love and commitment to the club. A serial winner at FC Bayern Munich, Alphonso Davies has a special connection with the club’s board.
However, recent developments around his future at the German club have suggested that his relationship with the club authorities is completely strained. The Canadian feels that the Bayern board is pressurizing him, and his entourage has termed the board’s treatment unfair.
Alphonso Davies inches closer to a Real Madrid move
‘Los Blancos’ are known to buy the best players in the world. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise if the Spanish club shows interest in Davies. It had earlier been revealed that the club was working on a solution to sign the 23-year-old from FC Bayern Munich. Real Madrid is prepared to buy Davies either in 2025 for free when his contract expires or in the summer of 2024.
However, FC Bayern Munich has clarified that it does not intend to lose their star left-back for free. The club has provided Alphonso Davies with an ultimatum of two weeks to sign a new deal with the club. If Davies decides otherwise, then he will have to leave the club in the summer of 2024.

FC Bayern’s President Max Eberl has made it clear that the club is not ready to lose the Canadian for free. He said at a press conference in late February (via Managing Madrid), “We made Alphonso a very concrete, appreciative offer. At some point in life you have to say yes or no.”
The Bundesliga club has reportedly already set a price for Alphonso Davies. According to reports, the club intends to raise a fee in the region of €35-€40 million ($37-$43 million) if Real Madrid purchases the Canadian. Alphonso Davies is reportedly not happy with Bayern’s ultimatum and is set to reject it. His agent has confirmed this news in an explosive rant against the FC Bayern Munich board.
Alphonso Davies’ agent blasts the FC Bayern board for giving an ultimatum
Alphonso Davies looks all set to don the iconic white kit of Real Madrid in the summer of 2024. While FC Bayern is forcing him to sign a contract extension, the Canadian is refusing to be dictated on his future. Alphonso Davies is not prepared to rush into a decision about his future and wants to reconsider his proposals properly. He also wants clarity on the project at FC Bayern Munich, which the board is refusing to share.
The 23-year-old’s agent, Nedal Huoseh, has made these shocking revelations in an interview with BILD. He said, “It’s unfair to receive an ultimatum from Bayern. We’ll decide how to proceed at the end of the season when there is more clarity about the project and situation.”
FC Bayern will have a new coach in the 24/25 season; however, the club has yet to shortlist candidates for the role. At such a stage, it is certainly very wise of Alphonso Davies not to commit his future to the club.

Alphonso’s agent has also accused the FC Bayern Munich board of being very autocratic. He said that the contract extension negotiations were progressing very well seven months ago. However, things took a turn for the worse when the club management changed. FC Bayern has appointed a new CEO, a sporting director, for the 23/24 season.
The restructuring had reportedly put the contract talks between Alphonso Davies and the German club on hold. Despite Nedal Huoseh’s repeated requests, the club hierarchy rejected a proposal to discuss the contract. Nedal revealed, “We didn’t hear anything for seven months. Although I tried during this time to contact the club myself and nothing happened.”
The fault in this case clearly lies on the part of FC Bayern’s board. The board members employed a very laid-back attitude in discussing the contract of one of their top players, and now they cannot force him to sign an extension all of a sudden.
Moreover, the club is probably very late in resuming contractual talks, as Real Madrid has already come sniffing around. Alphonso Davies, too, is excited by the possibility of playing for ‘Los Blancos’ and is expected to join the club as soon as in the summer of 2024. It would be interesting to see how the Canadian fits into the star-studded lineup at Real Madrid.
