Italian giants Juventus seemed to have lost their glory ever since the turn of the decade. ‘The Old Lady’ last won the Serie A in 2019/20, and since has been dominated by the resurgence of Napoli, Inter Milan, and AC Milan.
In addition to this, the 36-time Italian Champions haven’t qualified for the UCL quarter-finals since the 2018/19 season. In dire circumstances like this, Juventus’ coach Massimiliano Allegri has faced heavy scrutiny, with his job reportedly on the line.

Allegri’s job is in real danger after reports of Juventus hiring a new coach for the 24/25 season, have appeared. According to Sky Italia, Bologna’s manager Thiago Motta will become the next coach of ‘The Old Lady.’
Juventus have failed to win the Serie A title for the 4th consecutive season, as Inter Milan have clinched the Scudetto on April 23, 2024, by winning the Milan Derby 2-1. This has upset the Juventus hierarchy who have vowed to replace Allegri with Motta.
Gianluca Di Marzio, the famed Italian journalist, has revealed this piece of information in a show with Sky Italia. He said via Juvefc), “Allegri has no chance of remaining at Juventus. Thiago Motta is the chosen one and has given his availability for the club.” Although Thiago Motta’s appointment is still yet to be made official, it is safe to say that Max Allegri has known about his destiny from the get-go.
Massimiliano Allegri’s job relies on Juventus’ Coppa Italia final result
Juventus faces Atalanta in the final of the Coppa Italia at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome. The game is very important for both teams, as the Copa Italia title will help them end the season on a high note.
It would also mean that one of Juventus or Atalanta won’t have to go through a trophyless season. For Atalanta who are 7th in the Serie A table, a victory in the final will mean direct European qualification for the team.
However, the stakes are even higher for Juventus, who are in desperate need of a trophy. The team cannot afford to go three seasons without a trophy, having won their last title in the form of a Coppa Italia in the 2020/21 season.
🚨 Juventus are prepared to sack Massimiliano Allegri after a shocking run of Serie A form, with U19 head coach Paolo Montero likely to take over in the interim if a move is made.

Max Allegri is also well aware of the fact that his job depends on the result of the final. He said, ” If we are out of this on May 25th it will mean that the season has not been up to par. The team has done its duty and has demonstrated a great sense of responsibility. The coach is evaluated by results and those must be achieved.”
The Italian coach has urged his team to improve their performances and bring back a trophy to the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Atalanta will definitely not make things easy for Juventus, and ‘The Old Lady’ is bound to work hard to achieve a favorable result in the final.
Thiago Motta is leading Bologna in a historic season for the club
While Juventus has had to endure yet another disappointing season, their possible new coach Thiago Motta is on the verge of creating history at Bologna. The former Paris Saint Germain player is about to achieve something that no Bologna manager has ever achieved since Fulvio Bernardini in the 1964/65 season.
Thiago Motta and Bologna are on the verge of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in almost 6 decades. The Italian team is 4th at the end of matchday 33, with 62 points, and has a 4-point lead over 5th-placed side AS Roma. The team is also unbeaten in their last 5 games and is in pole position to qualify for the UCL in the upcoming season.
The architect behind Bologna’s huge success has been their coach Thiago Motta who has impressed the soccer fans with his attacking brand of soccer. The Italian has excelled in management too with a very tight budget.

The former PSG player has utilized young talents like Joshua Zirzkee, Ricardo Orsolini, Lewis Ferguson, etc. to great use. Zirzkee has particularly been very impressive as he has scored 11 goals in his first season for the Italian club. The former FC Bayern Munich player has already started attracting a lot of interest amongst some elite clubs.
It is clear that Thiago Motta has done an unthinkable job with Bologna, and deserves a move to a bigger club. The Italian also has a knack for developing young talents which would suit Juventus who have a lot of fairly young players. It would be interesting to see how Thiago Motta performs at Juventus.
