As the NFL proceeds, all the teams including the Buffalo Bills have been trying to give their best. Among all the Bills’ players is running back Ty Johnson who has struggled a lot. Born in September 1997, the star player has had an NFL career full of ups and downs. He grabbed the most limelight this year when he talked about his dark time in the league.
Before joining Josh Allen’s Bills, Ty Johnson was with the New York Jets. He stayed with the team for two years before they released him. The Jets then re-signed him once again in March this year. However, the team once again released him in April 2023 after he sustained a torn pectoral injury. After some time, Johnson decided to talk about that incident, calling it his “dark days”.
Update: RB Ty Johnson, formerly of the #Jets, suffered a Torn Pec injury while working out. He says the team told him to “Fix it” but cut him the next day after he did.
“I’ve had some Dark, dark days, man.”

The 5-foot-10 player took to Instagram to break his silence on that period through a video. He mentioned how the Jets released him after he had surgery for a torn pec. According to Ty Johnson, he suffered the injury while working out away from the team.
“I’ve had some Dark, dark days, man… Told them [about the injury]. I told them even before this, I was like: ‘Hey, was working out, [the torn pectoral] happened’ — saw the team doctor, he was like — ‘you need to get it fixed.’ Flew out the next day [to get surgery]. Came back happy that I got it done… That following Wednesday, you’re outta there,” he said.
It’s obvious that the Jets releasing Johnson was shocking to the running back. However, he didn’t lose hope and joined the Buffalo Bills, and has been with them since then.
