The NFL has been taking numerous measures to allow fair and balanced gameplay. The authorities are planning to ban several rules and moves including ‘tush push’ to make the league better. However, the decision is getting mixed responses from the people. While some people want it banned, others are opposing the decision.
The tush push is a strategic move that only the Philadelphia Eagles are able to execute. No other team in the NFL other than them can do it perfectly. It seems like it’s a patented Eagles move that the team used in short-yard games. In this move, the offensive line of the team forces the QB forward to get some additional yards.
If the NFL decides to ban the Tush Push, it would enter a highly exclusive club…

The move got its name ‘tush push’ from the way the Eagles guide the quarterback ahead. It has proved to be beneficial for the team on many occasions. The Eagles executed the move during the Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs as well. It surely helped the team but they failed to emerge victorious.
The Philadelphia Eagles have used the tush push this NFL season as well. Recently, they used it during the game against the Miami Dolphins on October 23. They ended up winning the game by 31-17 against the Dolphins.
The team’s players, coaches, and fans are the only people who support the tush push move. That’s because it allows them to bring the best out of their quarterback Jalen Hurts. However, now it will be interesting to see if the NFL bans the move or not.
Why is the NFL against the tush push move?
The tush push has undoubtedly proved to be advantageous to the Philadelphia Eagles. However, at the same time, other teams and authorities are in opposition to it. That’s primarily because many people feel that the move is quite risky. Some critics argue that the tush push move can hurt the QB whom the offensive line pushes from behind.
Along with that, the move provides one team with unnecessary power to outplay the other team. The team gets additional yards by pushing the QB which, some believe, is against the rules. Some NFL critics even feel that the move is unsportsmanlike as it violates the fair play rule of the league.
Joe Schad, an NFL reporter, once took to X to express his opinions on the tush push move. He mentioned how it’s not “legitimate” for the game and the league. Schad went on to claim that the strategic move of the Philadelphia Eagles could lead to injuries.
“The Tush Push is not a legitimate football play. It’s not how football was meant to be played. It’s also lame and can cause injuries. Nobody except Eagles fans will miss it once it’s banned in the off-season,” he wrote.
Keeping all this in mind the NFL wants to ban the move. It’s obvious that the ‘tush push’ move benefits no other team than the Philadelphia Eagles. This, in itself, shows how unfair the move is for the league.
