- The Manchester United star has had a terrible season after scoring 30 goals last season.
It has been a difficult season for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford whose form has dipped at an alarming rate. Rashford, who was once heralded as United’s golden boy, has continued to put in lackluster performances throughout the season. With some suggesting perhaps Rashford’s stint at United is coming to an end, the United star should listen to NFL legend Tom Brady’s advice.
Most recently, Marcus Rashford received plenty of criticism for his dismal performance against Coventry City in the FA Cup semifinal. Despite facing Coventry, a team that plays in the Championship, United narrowly avoided an embarrassing defeat. Rashford was one of the worst players in a United shirt against Coventry and seemed to have no creativity or ideas up front.

The England international tried to cut in and score multiple times but failed to do so. Rashford, who played almost 100 minutes against Coventry, had 72 touches on the ball, won just three of his seven duels, and shockingly lost possession 17 times. After the match, several fans criticized Rashford’s performance and urged the club to sell him in the summer.
Some fans also pointed out that Rashford was selfish against Coventry and wasn’t thinking about what was best for his team. Rashford, who was once labeled as the best player at United, is now gradually losing the support of Old Trafford. There have been instances this season when the fans sarcastically applauded at his substitution and even jeered when he was brought on against Chelsea last December.
Tom Brady’s advice perfectly explains the problem with Marcus Rashford
With Marcus Rashford in dire straits, perhaps NFL legend Tom Brady’s advice is the best thing the former should follow. Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, recently appeared in an episode of DeepCut Podcast. During the podcast, Brady talked about some of the issues with the new generation of athletes and sports stars.
Tom Brady believes the biggest problem with young athletes nowadays is their self-centered attitude.
“And I think the biggest problem with a lot of f***ing kids these days is it’s all about them. It’s all about them. Their brand, their social media… when it’s about me and not… pic.twitter.com/jPjOBnJapF

Brady said, “I think the biggest problem with a lot of f***ing kids these days is it’s all about them.” The former New England Patriots star further added that the new generation is more focused on their brand and their social media and they think less about their team. Brady’s words perfectly explain the problem with Rashford currently, who was hugely criticized for being selfish and not helping his team against Coventry City.
Manchester United legends want their former club to sell Marcus Rashford
Meanwhile, former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand believes that the club should think of selling Marcus Rashford. Ferdinand pointed out that with Rashford at a pivotal point in his career, he needs to make smart decisions. The ex-United defender also speculated whether someone or some people around Rashford are affecting his performances on the pitch.
“As a local player it’s your job to drag those other players up.”

Ferdinand added, “He’ll need to either decide to get rid of them and stay in Manchester or leave Manchester and get rid of those people.” Not only Ferdinand but also club legend Roy Keane has warned Rashford to start performing for the club. However, United coach Erik ten Hag remains adamant that he has no intention of selling the 26-year-old forward.
