As this NFL season is proceeding, the woes for the New England Patriots have been increasing. The team has been struggling for a few years now under coach Bill Belichick. Recently, there have been numerous rumors about him leaving the team at the end of this season. However, the head coach has now refused to comment on the topic.
The New England Patriots recently locked horns with the Kansas City Chiefs at Gillette Stadium. It was Patrick Mahomes’ team that won the game, defeating the Patriots by 27-17. This was the 11th loss for Bill Belichick and his team this season in 14 games. The loss increased the possibility of Belichick’s firing from the HC position.

However, the 71-year-old head coach made it clear that he doesn’t care much about the rumors. Bill Belichick recently appeared on WEEI where he talked about whether he’s leaving the Patriots or not. He revealed that he has “open conversations” with the team regarding the rumors. However, he refused to comment on it and asked people to question Robert Kraft about it.
“I think any questions you have for Mr. Kraft, you should ask Mr. Kraft… I mean, I don’t know… I don’t sit around and listen to talk radio and read stuff every day, so. I’m going to do what I do and prepare the team to get ready for Denver,” he said.
Bill Belichick clearly mentioned that he’s focusing on the team’s upcoming game against the Denver Broncos. The NFL coach is currently not focusing on the past or future and wants to live in the present.
Patrick Mahomes feels that Bill Belichick is the “best coach of all time”
Bill Belichick might have been suffering for the past few years, but he is probably the most successful NFL coach. Born in April 1952, the HC has won 8 Super Bowls in his career (6 as a head coach). Considering his amazing career, Patrick Mahomes recently referred to him as the “best coach of all time.”
The New England Patriots reached great heights under Belichick. He, along with NFL legend Tom Brady, helped the team become the most successful team in the league. Recently, the Patriots lost the game to the Chiefs’, but QB Mahomes didn’t fail to praise the Tennessee-born coach.
“I appreciate the fight. I mean, that’s a great defense. That’s the best coach of all time, the best defensive coach especially… Belichick is gonna be in that separate Hall of Fame, I mean, the coach, the defensive mind, and it’s special, and it’s made me better honestly,” he said.
The Madden 24 star revealed that it’s always a “tough” task to beat the Patriots. He even mentioned that there should be a separate Hall of Fame for Bill Belichick. However, in the end, the 28-year-old player was happy that his team was able to win the game.
The statement of the 6-foot-2 QB is enough to show how good a coach Belichick is. He has been exceptional ever since he entered the league in 1976 with the Detroit Lions. Bill Belichick has given 24 years of his career to the Patriots. Now, it’ll be worth watching for how much more time he will stay with the team despite their poor form.
