NBA 2K24 has been doing far better than most of us expected. When the game was initially announced by the 2K franchise, fans were left ecstatic mainly because they outdo themselves every year. This meant that 2K24 was undoubtedly going to be their best release. For several months, 2K teased various segments of the game to grab the attention of fans.
The developers mainly focused on making the installment more realistic for the consumer. Rather than the usual animations that give out the ordinary videogame feel, 2K managed to integrate real-life instances into the installment. 2K24 also has a set of segments that allows fans to relive iconic NBA moments that have taken place over the years. The gameplay now allows fans to experience what it feels like to be a manager, coach, player, and owner of a team.
NBA 2K24 introduced several new features including Crossplay. However, this game mode is only limited to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X & S, PlayStation 4, and PC. Following the launch, 2K24 had mixed reviews from fans across the globe. Several fans were impressed by the graphical improvements made. But most fans claimed that the game was not any different from its predecessor, NBA 2K23.
NBA 2K24 achieves double digits growth compared to its predecessor
NBA 2K24 came out on September 8, 2023, and faced a multitude of issues right off the bat. The reviews it had received from PC users were not the best and it ranked amongst the worst PC releases ever. Despite the unfortunate setbacks, 2K managed to make several tweaks and adjusted the gameplay to avoid further discrepancies in the future. And what’s more interesting is that they’ve done extremely well in sales even with all the negative remarks.
In September, NBA 2K24 gained a lot of traction in the world of console gaming. PlayStation announced its list of bestsellers for September and 2K24 topped the charts. It was ranked the bestselling PS4 & PS5 game in the United States and Canada. It also made it past games such as EA’s FC24 and Madden NFL 24. In Europe, 2K24 ranked amongst the top six bestsellers for both PlayStation consoles.
