The NBA 2K24 installment has had a couple of ups and downs since its release. The game came out in early September before which fans were stoked to grab themselves a copy. However, soon after the release, there was a multitude of complaints regarding the gameplay. At times, such games face a lot of discrepancies but they get sorted out over time.
2K celebrated its 25th anniversary this year as it was released back in 1999. The game has evolved ever since, as the developers have put in a lot of work to make it as standout as possible. 2K24 had several revolutionary changes brought into it that tweaked the overall graphics and feel of it. Their biggest aim with this installment was to enhance user experience and make the game feel as realistic as it can be.
Bringing in crossplay was another great idea that had fans excited to purchase NBA 2K24. Several games have had limitations in connecting via different consoles, but 2K24 fulfilled every gamer’s dream with crossplay. 2K also pushed to integrate the game with various real-life visuals and concepts as well. This game was ultimately developed in a way to help users feel what it would be like to own, manage a team, and be a player.
NBA 2K24 tops US and Canada charts as PlayStation’s bestseller
It has been an entire month since NBA 2K24’s release and it still carries a few questionable features. Fans have had complaints regarding the smooth functionality of the game. The franchise has had around three to four updates so far and things are slowly falling into place. Unfortunately, the game ended up having some of the worst reviews on Steam making one of the worst releases amongst PC games.
But the good news is that 2K24 is getting more traction with consoles. Sony’s PlayStation recently released a list of bestsellers for September. In 2023, games like EA FC24 and Madden NFL 24 have stood as strong competitors against 2K24. Other games such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Grand Theft Auto V, Mortal Kombat, and Payday 3 have also stood out this year.
According to PlayStation’s list of bestsellers, NBA 2K24 topped the rankings beating EA’s FC24 and Madden as well. 2K’s 25th Anniversary installment was the bestseller in the US and Canada for PlayStation 4 and 5 in September. This is quite surprising considering the amount of bad reviews it has gotten since its release. In Europe, 2K24 ranks among the top six bestsellers. Madden happens to be nowhere near the top unfortunately.
