It has hardly been eight years since AJ Lee took direct shots at Stephanie McMahon for treating the talents unequally based on their salaries. This helped many women take a stand on the matter and it appears that history is repeating itself yet again. After AJ Lee, Britt Baker takes the lead in exposing the prevalent dark side of the professional wrestling industry.
Dr. Britt Baker has been one of the most promising faces in the AEW. Despite being the former AEW Champion, Britt failed to make 2023 the best year on her career record. Apart from missing any major accolades, she wasn’t able to grace the ring with her promos for the entire year.

Britt Baker took to X and pointed out the discrimination that men and women had in AEW. “Tonight’s #AEWDynamite: MJF live promo time: 7 mins Christian Cage live promo time: 10 mins,” she wrote, looking at the promos of MJF and Christian Cage at AEW Dynamite. She compared this to the live promo time she got in the ring in the whole of 2023, which was NIL.

“All of 2023 #AEWDynamite: Britt Baker live promo time: 0 mins,” she added. With her absence from the current AEW bookings, her tweet has come as a thud to the company’s creative. A subtle yet loud call to Tony Khan, her tweet invited much support from the fans. With this being said, only time will reveal if her comment will invite any changes to the bookings for the promotion.
Britt Baker looks up to AJ Lee even after her retirement
AJ Lee bid goodbye to the pro wrestling ring in 2015 after a threatening injury. Ever since then, fans have been eager to see her in the ring. One such fan to keep an eye on her much-awaited return is Britt Baker. The 32-year-old has been a big AJ Lee fan and she spoke her heart out in an interview with Sportskeeda.
“I would love to see AJ Lee in the ring again. She did so much for women’s wrestling and I think there’s so much more that she can do,” said the former AEW Women’s Champion. She also confessed that many girls, including her, look up to her. Baker also expressed her desire to face Lee in the ring if Lee ever comes out of retirement.

“I would love for her to come out of retirement; I would love for her to be in an AEW ring. I would love to have possibly a mixed tag match with her significant other and my significant other, if the planets aligned,” she added. However, with CM Punk now in WWE, Baker’s tag team dream match plans have gone down the drain.
