Antonio Brown has been one of the most controversial players in the NFL. Ever since he entered the league in 2010, he has kept grabbing the limelight for several reasons. He isn’t even playing for any team this NFL season, but he still grabbed eyeballs many times. Now, the wide receiver has once again gotten the attention as he finally got his college degree.
Born in July 1988, Antonio Brown studied at Central Michigan University from 2007 to 2009. He missed his senior year to play in the NFL in 2010. However, 13 years after leaving college, Brown has completed his graduation now. He took to X to break the news to everyone through a video of the graduation ceremony. The star player added the caption “Late Graduation #congratulations,” with his post.

As per ESPN, the 5-foot-10 WR joined online classes at the university in September 2019 to finish his graduation. The star player was doing a course in Introduction to Management. He also enrolled in an English class on Technical Writing. Brown had a ‘Death and Dying’ religion class and a ‘Racism and Inequality’ class.
Brown reportedly enrolled 4 days after the New England Patriots released him that year. The team had released Antonio Brown because he had allegations of sexual and personal misconduct against him. After that, he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played 2 years with them.
It’s worth noting that though Antonio Brown isn’t with any team presently, he’s still a free agent. The 35-year-old retired from the NFL in March this year. However, he unretired again after a month in April.
A walk through the college career of Antonio Brown
Despite all his controversies, Antonio Brown has been an exceptional football player. The Florida-born star began playing the game when he was a kid. He played at Miami Norland High School and became the North Athlete of the Year in 2005. After that, he joined the North Carolina Tech Prep and played 1 year with them.
In just 1 season with Tech Prep, the former Pittsburgh Steelers star impressed everyone with his skills. He appeared in only 5 games with them as a QB, recording 11 TDs for 1,247 passing yards. Antonio Brown also got 13 touchdowns for 451 rushing yards.
In 2007, Brown went on to join Michigan State University. Zach Azzanni, the WR coach of the team, asked him to shift from a QB to a wide receiver. It wasn’t a difficult task for Antonio Brown who turned out to be a terrific WR. In his college debut, the former Patriots star got 4 receptions for 23 receiving yards.
In the 2nd game, he recorded his first college TD along with 9 receptions for 105 receiving yards. Antonio Brown became the MAC Freshman of The Year in 2007. Throughout his 3-year college career, the Super Bowl winner got 305 receptions and 22 TDs for 3,199 receiving yards. He also had 72 carries and 4 TDs for 531 rushing yards.
The college career stats of Brown clearly show that he is a classy player. He exhibited the same talent in the NFL and won millions of hearts.
