SUMMARY
- Nintendo's first Direct Partner Showcase of 2024 is approaching soon.
- The runtime of the show is expected to be 25 minutes.
After Xbox and PlayStation held their first game showcase of the year last month, it’s time for Nintendo’s showcase. Just like the competitor consoles, the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase is also expected to make some interesting revelations.
Although Nintendo Direct was initially scheduled to take place last week, it was postponed after Microsoft announced its plan to host a podcast regarding the future of Xbox. Nonetheless, the first Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase of 2024 is finally happening this week
When is the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase?
Nintendo announced that 2024’s first Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase will take place on February 21, 2024, at 6 am PT, and 9 PM ET. Nintendo confirmed the showcase via a post on X. They did not reveal much about what content the community can expect from the upcoming event.
However, they did mention that it will feature Nintendo Switch games coming in the first half of 2024. These will include the exclusive games arriving from its publishing and development partners.

The Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase is confirmed to run for around 25 minutes, with the Nintendo Switch games of the first half of 2024 being the focus. Those interested can watch the event live on Nintendo’s YouTube channel.
Besides that, there are no further details known about which games will be presented at the Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase and what other announcements will be made. However, after Microsoft last week confirmed that it will be launching its Xbox-exclusive titles on PS5 and Nintendo Switch, players can expect some surprises
What is expected from the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase?
Notably, the announcement of the showcase comes days after Nintendo reportedly told game publishers that the Nintendo Switch will be delayed till 2025. Earlier, Nintendo Switch 2 was envisioned to debut around the holiday season of 2024, however, the console may not arrive until March 2025 at least.
Meanwhile, reports suggest Nintendo may have a relatively small lineup of games arriving in the Switch this year. This is because the company would prefer saving its biggest first-party titles for the upcoming Switch successor.

For a long time now, fans have expected an announcement about a sequel to 2017’s Super Mario Odyssey to come from the company. However, Nintendo seems unlikely to reveal it until the next-generation Nintendo Switch arrives.
Notably, Microsoft, in last week’s business update, confirmed the release of four of its first-party games on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Although they did not name the four games, there are numerous leaks speculating what the titles could be. That being said, all eyes are now on the upcoming Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, since Nintendo could reveal one or some of these games being confirmed for the Switch.
