SUMMARY
- Helldivers 2 Automatons prove a tough foe as Malevelon Creek falls to 0% liberation.
- Players are distraught as they require severe reinforcements from other players.
The third-person shooting game which is a sequel to the 2015 game has gone on to become a massive hit for Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony. Helldivers 2 has received positive reviews from the critics and fans are lining up to play the game up to the levels where the servers are getting maxed out.
Most of the game’s success is built on the way it plays out. Players are having fun teaming up with others and fighting difficult battles against robots as they move from one planet to the other.
However, it now seems that some aspects of the game have proven to be more difficult for the players than expected. This is especially true when it comes to the infamous Malevelon Creek.
Malevelon Creek falls to the Automatons
Players will know Malevelon Creek as one of the planets that is located within the Severin Sector. The planet’s landscape is mostly filled with big jungles and wide ponds.
As such the planet doesn’t have any unique environmental conditions, but it is mostly covered with vegetation, such as dense, dark forests and heavy brush. Moreover, the grounds are always covered in heavy fog and the sky is dark with heavy clouds. Therefore, this makes the environment look continuous at night time even during the day.
Malevelon Creek’s difficult topography, together with its dense forest, heavy clouds, and fog, makes it a very difficult battleground for the players as they are made to fight till the last man standing. Because of these factors, the planet has gained popularity among the Helldivers 2 community.

The Helldivers joined their forces and began an increasingly enormous onslaught on Malevelon Creek on February 15. However, even after coming together, they have found it difficult to make significant advancements against the Automation robots’ overwhelming might.
As the difficulty level of the planet became a hot topic for discussion, many more players joined in on the fight in the following days. However, all the efforts proved to be futile as players lost Malevelon Creek to the Automatons on February 27.
Malevelon Creek gets compared to Vietnam
As the Helldivers lost the planet to the Automation, many people from the game’s community started comparing the battle environment to Vietnam and dubbed the planet “Robot Vietnam”.
So I checked into what people are calling “Robot Vietnam” in Helldivers 2.

Reddit user DarkShadow84, has called the battle on the planet as, “It’s freaking Space Vietnam”. The comments on the post also seem to agree with the analogy.
This is because the battle that took place on the planet was the closest one could get to a real war. The players were caught in between bullets flying everywhere, robots emerging from the dense jungles, and most importantly the screaming of their fellow Helldivers.
Moreover, as soon as additional forces were deployed to the ground, they were all made to taste the dust by the powerful Automation robots. Therefore, no matter how hard players tried to defeat them it seemed impossible.
