Since every time Rockstar Games announces something related to GTA 6 the internet explodes, a video game expert claimed that 25 million copies of GTA 6 are likely to get sold at launch. If this sale figure does occur then it will surpass GTA 5’s 11.21 million copies sold on day one.
Joost Van Dreunen, who is an industry expert predicted in his newsletter that the sixth title might sell 25 million copies in the same week of launch.
According to Reddit users, the amount of anticipation the Rockstar title has created, will easily cross $1 billion in 24 hours of launch. Some Reddit users also estimate this number to go as high as $1.5 billion if GTA 6 is released on both console generations.
How much did GTA 5 earn?
GTA 5 has been around for 10 years and has sold more than 200 million units, along with millions of online players. It was launched on September 17, 2013.
It generated more than USD 800 million in worldwide sales in the first 24 hours of launch. On the first day, 11.21 million copies were sold and USD 1 billion mark was crossed after three days. These numbers are 2.4 times more than GTA 4.
