Grand Theft Auto 5 by Rockstar Games has been a huge hit with over 185 million copies sold globally. After many years of speculations and leaks, Rockstar Games in February 2022 confirmed that the next game in the series i.e. GTA 6 is under development.
Many rumors have circulated online regarding the launch date of GTA 6. But Chris Kippel, a known leaker of GTA estimates that GTA 6’s release might take place anywhere between April 2024-March 2025.

GTA 6 became a hot topic when leaked footage of GTA development videos surfaced online on September 18, 2022. Rockstar Games later confirmed that a hacker had gained access to their network and stole their assets. The leaked footage showed parts of the game world, gunplay, and also NPCs.
GTA 6 map leaks
By looking at the leaked footage of the police cars and liveries, people started to deduce the locations that might get added to the GTA 6 map.
In 2021, another GTA 6 map was leaked from a 15-second video. In the leak a substantial part of the map, along with location and activities surfaced. From the leaked video it can also be deduced that the main setting of GTA 6 will be Miami (in another rendition of Vice City) and the state of Florida.
According to Bloomberg, GTA 6 will reportedly return to Vice City, and it will only be the starting point of the game. The report further stated that Rockstar might add “new missions and cities on a regular basis”.
Port Gellhorn is a city in GTA 6 which is based on a mix of Fort Myers, Panama City and other surrounding areas on the west coast of Florida.

In the above, the location in the game is called Port Gellhorn as shown in the Police Cars. This could imply that the world would be large enough to have multiple police departments.
In the footage leaked, a lake appeared far from Miami, which means the map could come with a bigger chunk of Florida.
Some other areas that were spotted in the leaked footage, across road signs, menus, etc are: Hamlet, Ekanfinaka, Lake Leonida, Little Haiti, Malibu Club, Monument Of Leonida, North Beaches, Ocean Beach, Port Gellhorn, Red Hill Forest, Rockridge, South Beach, Vice Beach, Washington Beach, Yorktown.
The video leaks also show that the GTA equivalent of the Florida Keys is also included in the game. The videos also show a swampy area named Grassrivers, which is similar to that of the Everglades.
