- Fortnite's recent collaboration is with the beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.
- The collaboration brings the iconic Turtles as skins to Fortnite.
The latest season of Fortnite, Chapter 5 Season 1, has been a great one so far with the community praising it. It is safe to say it has been a season of collaborations, and many of them. And now, it is all set to get another one.
The Season introduced a brand-new island, three new specular collaboration-led game modes, a selection of vehicles, and a wide arsenal of weapons. Apart from the three crossovers already introduced in the game namely, LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing, there are several others that Epic Games is rumored to introduce in the coming months. However, this time the devs have confirmed a collaboration with the renowned Ninja Turtles series.
Fortnite to collaborate with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Epic Games recently released the new Cowabunga event in Fortnite. With this, it brings back the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles along with new content such as a reward pass, cosmetics, and skins for popular characters. These include Shredder and Splinter.
Notably, this is not the first time Fortnite has collaborated with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Back in April 2023, Epic Games collaborated with the franchise. The collab had brought the four brothers along with April O’Neil to Fortnite’s in-game shop. Players also got sprays, emotes, back bling, and other additional cosmetics to help them customize their experience.

However, back then, players could purchase the skins only using V-Bucks. This could be either done individually or as a bundle. Fast forward to this year, earlier in 2024, the devs teased the introduction of Splinter. And now Epic Games announced Fortnite’s latest crossover with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Epic Games announced the new event via a blog post. The blog highlighted the Cowabunga event, which starts on February 9 and will run throughout the month before finally drawing curtains on February 27th. During the event, players will get the opportunity to complete Cowabunga Quests and earn ooze, a currency used to unlock reward tiers on a limited-time Battle Pass.
Fortnite x TMNT skins and rewards
To play the event, players must visit the Cowabunga tab present in the lobby. Here they can see their progress as well as the quests that need to be completed. These quests typically involve activities such as traveling through sewers or purchasing one of the Turtles’ weapons from a vending machine.
Players wanting a little extra can also avail of the premium rewards track available for 1,000 V-Bucks. The premium rewards track comes with heavily hyped Shredder skin. Besides it will have new quests added every three days.
Coming to the biggest highlight of the event is the Shredder cosmetic skin. The skin can be unlocked by purchasing the premium reward track, while it unlocks the LEGO minifig as well. The crossover also re-introduces the four Turtles and April O’Neil skins into the Fortnite shop.
Here are all of the rewards available in the Fortnite X Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event as well as ways to unlock them:
- Super Shredder – By reaching the end of the Premium Cowabunga Reward Track
- Krang Back Bling – By completing at least 5 quests in all six Cowabunga Quest Groups
- Splinter Skin – Can be purchased from the Fortnite Shop
- Turtle Blimp Glider, Kuro Kabuto Bass, OOZE Wrap, TMNT Pizza Back Bling – Free with Cowabunga Reward Track
Apart from this, the recent Epic Games and Disney partnership is rumored to also bring Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to Fortnite.
