SUMMARY
- Vince McMahon has resigned from TKO board after Janel Grant's s*x trafficking lawsuit against him.
- After weeks of the incident, John Cena and Randy Orton have broken their silence on the case.
WWE recently suffered a massive setback after former employee Janel Grant had some serious accusations against the former CEO, Vince McMahon. Earlier in 2024, Grant made some huge revelations through her lawyer about alleged s*xual harassment and s*x trafficking. While many wrestlers have responded to it after Royal Rumble 2024, John Cena and Randy have just made their feelings known on the matter.
In the lawsuit, Grant claimed that she was introduced to the company and WWE co-founder Vince McMahon after her parents passed away. However, the relationship which had a fruitful beginning to it, allegedly turned sour really quickly. From allegedly using her to secure a contract with Brock Lesnar to taking a dump on her, Janel Grant allegedly suffered a lot during her WWE tenure. Now, John Cena has finally broken his silence on the matter.
John Cena breaks silence on Janel Grant’s s*x trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon
John Cena has always looked up to Vince McMahon as a father figure in WWE. The 16-time WWE Champion has thrived and made a massive name for himself under Vince’s tutelage. However, it hasn’t stopped him from addressing the lawsuit during his recent interview with Howard Stern.
The Leader of Cenation emphasized the point that a person has to be held accountable for their actions. However, until anything is proven in a court of law, the $80 million-rich Hollywood actor has refused to abandon his former boss and wants to be there for the 78-year-old billionaire.
Speaking on “The Howard Stern Show,” the 46-year-old added, “Right now, I’m gonna love the person I love, be their friend. ‘I love you, you have a hill to climb.’ There is the saying of, ‘You don’t know who your friends are until sh*t hits the fan or your back is against the wall.’ That doesn’t make any of what’s going on any easier to swallow. Just telling someone you love them, it’s a hill to climb, and we’ll see what happens.’” (h/t via WrestlePurists)

While Cena is not a full-time WWE wrestler anymore, he is known for making appearances in the company every now and then. His last appearance came at the WWE Crown Jewel 2023, where Solo Sikoa defeated him quite handily. Although he has yet to retire from the business, Cena has hinted that the end is near for him.
As for Vince McMahon, he has resigned from the TKO board. While Janel Grant, who occupied a $75,000 worth job in the company, has made some heinous accusations against him, Vince has denied them all. But, the company has already removed his profile from the website and there are calls for Stephanie McMahon to take over.
Randy Orton has addressed the accusations against Vince McMahon as well
One of John Cena’s biggest onscreen rival and best offscreen friend is Randy Orton. They are both products of OVW and the ‘Ruthless Aggression’ era. They have produced some of the greatest moments in WWE history and have risen to the top together. Naturally, Vince McMahon has also had a big influence in making Orton a major star too.
Unsurprisingly, Orton had a similar reaction to that of Cena too. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Orton said, “I would not be where I am today without Vince McMahon. But, f*ck, I’m reading this sh*t. What you’ve seen and read, I’ve seen and read. As far as commenting on that, it f*cking hurts my heart. It hurts my heart.” (h/t via Wrestle Ops)
