Lacey Evans joined WWE in 2016 and lived through quite a “controversial” career before leaving the Stamford-based promotion in August 2023.
Reportedly, Evans was part of a famous controversial angle, which presented a romantic relationship between her and WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.
However, the controversial storyline was later dropped when Evans took a maternity leave. Later, a huge controversy arose when Evans made some arguable comments on Autism. Lacey has been a part of several controversies. However, Evans no longer works for WWE and has recently left the promotion.
Macey Estrella or Lacey Evans left WWE because she plans to run her own Cafe, named ‘Sunny Summers Cafe’ in Beaufort, South Carolina. In an interview, Lacey said, “I thought I could be of more assistance fighting a different fight than in the WWE ring“.

Lacey further mentioned that she wants to focus on helping the community fight against addiction and help the people in her community to reduce mental health issues. She also wanted to create a space where everyone would keep aside their devices and forget their worries, and this is the reason why she chose to step out of the ring and run her cafe.
Lacey Evans’ relationship with Triple H and WWE soured over the years
Lacey Evans signed with WWE in 2016 and was later moved to the main roster. She primarily worked as a heel and continued to feud with Becky Lynch. However, she kept losing against Lynch repeatedly. She was then involved in a few disappointing storylines including the storyline where she was involved in a romantic angle with Ric Flair and thus feuded with Charlotte Flair and went through several ineffective gimmick changes.
It was reported that Triple H and WWE were severely unhappy with Lacey Evans’ performance. With that, she was rarely featured on television and finally left the promotion in August 2023.
Evans has no achievements or accomplishments in WWE. She was previously seen at the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble Match where she was eliminated by Raquel Rodriguez after scoring two eliminations herself. However, her last match was a dark match against Zelina Vega which took place on the July 7, 2023, episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Now that Evans has left WWE, she will be focusing entirely on her new cafe. Will she return to the wrestling world? Do let us know in the comments.
