Born on March 9, 1983, Clint Dempsey started his soccer career playing his university’s soccer team Furman Paladins. He signed his first professional soccer career in 2004 when he was drafted by the MLS side New England Revolution. Since then, Dempsey has even gone on to play in the Premier League for Fulham and Tottenham Hotspurs. He eventually returned to the MLS again in 2013 when he signed with the Seattle Sounders.

Throughout his career, Clint Dempsey has won a multitude of honors. In the MLS, Dempsey has won the MLS Cup twice, the Supporters’ Cup once, and the US Open Cup once. He is also known for his stint in the Premier League playing for Fulham and Tottenham. He has registered 57 goals and 21 assists in 218 appearances in the Premier League.
For his national team, Clint Dempsey is tied with Landon Donovan for being the top scorer of the USMNT with 57 goals. The former Tottenham star also has the fourth-most appearances (141) and fourth-most assists (19) for the USMNT. He won the CONCACAF Gold Cup thrice and also reached the final of the Confederations Cup. Last but not least, Dempsey is also the only American soccer player to score in three different World Cup editions.

Dempsey, who now works as a soccer pundit, even gave a display of his talent during his appearance on CBS Sports’ Destination Miami set. Dempsey performed a freestyle rap and impressed the likes of French legend Thierry Henry and Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher. He also left British TV personality Kate Abdo and former Manchester City star Micah Richards stunned with his performance.
