Thomas Tuchel wants to forget about FC Bayern Munich as soon as possible. His experience with the German team has been very harrowing, with Tuchel being subjected to a lot of unnecessary criticism from the club’s board members.
It was earlier confirmed that Thomas Tuchel would be departing from FC Bayern Munich at the end of the 23/24 season. However, in the recent run of results for the German club, there have been rumors of Thomas Tuchel extending his stay in Bavaria.
🎙 Thomas Tuchel: “Since we agreed to part ways, Bayern has been looking intensively for a new coach – I’m guessing even before our conversation. That’s bad motivation to then say: ah, let’s do it again with you. Nah. From my point of view, that’s clear.”

Yet, the German manager has resoundingly denied these rumors. Thomas Tuchel wants FC Bayern Munich to continue searching for a new manager as he isn’t going back on his words anymore. Moreover, Tuchel also dropped the bombshell that FC Bayern Munich had been searching for a manager even before his departure was made official.
The former Chelsea manager said, “Since we agreed to part ways, Bayern has been looking intensively for a new coach – I’m guessing even before our conversation. That’s bad motivation to then say: ah, let’s do it again with you. Nah. From my point of view, that’s clear.”
It looks like the story of FC Bayern Munich and Thomas Tuchel is finally over. The Bavarian club is expected to have a new manager at the helm for the 24/25 season, while Tuchel is yet to decide on his future.
FC Bayern Munich director confirms Thomas Tuchel’s departure
Despite the rumors of the club making a U-turn on its stance on Thomas Tuchel, club director Max Eberl has made it clear that the German will not be coaching the team beyond this season. Eberl has confirmed that there’s no chance of Thomas Tuchel staying at Bayern next season. The Director’s comments slam down all the reports that have hinted at Tuchel possibly staying at FC Bayern Munich.
🔴 Bayern director Max Eberl on potential change of mind for Tuchel leaving the club: “The decision, Thomas said, still stands. That’s why I don’t need to remap it again now”.

Max Eberl has been pretty sure about the club’s decision over Thomas Tuchel from the get-go. He believes Thomas Tuchel’s decision not to continue with FC Bayern Munich was a collective one and there’s no going back on it. Max Eberl said, “The decision, Thomas said, still stands. That’s why I don’t need to remap it again now. “It was a collective decision. That’s why we don’t need to discuss it.”
Bayern’s decision to part with Thomas Tuchel came after it was confirmed that FC Bayern Munich will lose out on the Bundesliga title for the first time in over a decade. It has been a very catastrophic season for the Bavarians nonetheless and therefore they want to go in a different direction with a new coach.
Bayern Munich director regrets losing out on Ralf Rangnick
The German club has been quite aggressive in its search for a new manager. The club has prepared a shortlist of potential managers with different profiles. Unfortunately, though, every manager that they have been strongly linked with has rejected them. The trend started after Xabi Alonso decided to stay at Bayer Leverkusen for one more season rather than signing for FC Bayern Munich.
The next in the line was the Austria National Team’s manager Ralf Rangnick who was inches away from being the coach of the Bayern first-team. However, he too shockingly decided to reject the offer to focus on his job with the national team.
🚨🔴 Bayern director Max Eberl: “Ralf Rangnick has made a decision in his life. That ultimately came as a surprise to us. But it is what it is… we move on”.
“He was a candidate that we would’ve been very happy to see at FC Bayern”, told SkyDE. pic.twitter.com/qTAmlIwytw

The FC Bayern board looked quite shocked by his decision as it derailed their plans for the upcoming season. The club’s frustration was emulated in the words of Max Eberl who said, “Ralf Rangnick has made a decision in his life. That ultimately came as a surprise to us. But it is what it is… we move on. He was a candidate that we would’ve been very happy to see at FC Bayern.”
Despite, Rangnick’s rejection the German board has a plethora of managers to choose from. FC Bayern Munich would need to find a new manager as soon as possible to plan their summer transfer window accordingly. The club would be hoping to retain their league title from Bayer Leverkusen next season.
