Sharabutdin Magomedov is another Dagestani fighter who is set to take the UFC by storm. He follows in the footsteps of fighters like UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov. Magomedov, however, made a lot of noise even before his first fight in the UFC.
He has several controversies related to his life outside the Octagon. The most talked about issue is the one where he attacked a stranger in a mall in Dagestan.
In the video of the incident, it is seen that Shara was behind a couple who kissed on the escalator. Apparently, this triggered Shara, he went after the stranger for it. They fought in the mall where Shara and the stranger tried to tackle each other. However, people around them stopped the fight from escalating.
What was more shocking is that Shara waited for that man afterward and pounced on him in a surprise attack. He punched the stranger and then stomped on him in a brutal attack. UFC commentator Joe Rogan talked about the incident on his JRE podcast with Belal Muhamad. However, Rogan faced backlash from the MMA community, specifically YouTuber ‘The MMA Guru’ for downplaying the incident.
Shara is also known for being blind in one eye. However, another injury that has come to light is a scar on his belly. There is not much information about it available but fans have been speculating about it. It could be that he was part of another street fight which led to him being injured. It could be a stab wound. A likelier reason for the scar could be an appendix operation. The position of the scar verifies it as well.

Shara reportedly suffered a blow during his training sessions in Thailand. He injured his right eye horribly. After multiple surgeries, Shara ended up losing the eye. He is completely blind in his right eye.
In an interview with Athletistic, he opened up about his injury. He claimed that even anesthesia did not work on him during his operations and he felt all the pain of the injections.
“Before the operation, I was mainly afraid of an injection in the eye. I watched this video. Very unpleasant. I thought that was the most boring thing ever. And there were such operations when an injection in the eye had to be made, where it was removed, one might say… At this time, local anesthesia is administered, but you feel everything,”
Further, Magomedov claimed that the doctors told him he was free to practice MMA because the worst that could happen to his eye had already happened.
