Conor McGregor severely knocked down teammate Landon Quinones with a body shot only days before his exhibition fight on The Ultimate Fighter.
The renowned two-weight world champion has led his side to an incredible 0-7 losing streak, prompting Dana White, the event’s promoter, to wonder how the show can go to the semi-finals. And a sparring session he took in the early part of this week’s program may have played a role in his latest quick-fire defeat.
McGregor previously stated he needed to calm down after his heated confrontation with Chandler the previous week. In a light, sparring practice with Landon Quinones, McGregor delivered a vicious body kick that knocked his charge out.
“He hit me with a left body kick, right in my liver, kinda shut me down for a minute” stated Quinones. He appeared to want to stop, but the Irishman urged him to continue despite his pain. The lightweight contender described the sparring session as a “blessing,”.
Michael Chandler recently gave a savage reply to the incident. Chandler took to Instagram stories and wrote, “I too was dropping my guys”. Team Chandler yet again proved to be a dominant side. In the recent episode of TUF 31, Jason Knight defeated Team McGregor’s Landon Quinones via a triangle choke submission win.
Landon Quinones claimed he learned more in the round with Conor McGregor than in his career bouts
McGregor was seen dropping Landon Quinones with a powerful body kick in a recent video published on The Ultimate Fighter’s social media account, just days before his contest against Jason Knight.
Quinones described his experience in the ring with McGregor as being anxious and learning a lot more about fighting than he had in the Octagon for so many years.

“He hit me with a left body kick right in my liver that kind of shut me down for a minute. When that happened I felt like I learned more in that round than I did in a lot of rounds in my career and I feel like I’m going to take that with me, the way I train is going to be so much different.” stated Landon after the practice session. Quinones ended up facing seasoned veteran Jason Knight in the final opportunity for a McGregor lightweight to win. After Quinones fought in the standup with the legendary bare-knuckle fighter, Knight won via submission in the first minute.
He eventually got the momentum he needed with a magnificent double leg, but he pushed himself right into Knight’s guard. Once on the ground, the veteran demonstrated his experience by tossing up a triangle out of nowhere to secure another first-round victory for Team Chandler.
Bantamweights Hunter Azure and Rico DiSciullo face each other in Episode 8 as Team McGregor continues to hunt for its first victory. It looks like tensions between the two teams will flare up once more in the aftermath of the fight.
