UFC commentator Joe Rogan is a very polarizing character. Whether people like him or not, Joe Rogan is an extremely influential figure thanks to his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.” Any news of him is bound to attract a lot of eyeballs and that is exactly what happened with a 2022 Twitter hoax of Rogan being dead.
According to a now-suspended Twitter account with the user handle @joerogannhq, the 55-year-old comedian passed away on April 6, 2022. Needless to say, there was no validity to the claims. There are often rumors of many varieties about Joe Rogan, however, the death hoax seems to be a constant. In the past, Joe had to come out with statements many times to clarify that he was not dead.
However, the trolls took things one step forward as it contained a fake statement from the UFC President, Dana White as well. MMA fans are aware of the friendship that Dana and Joe share. Joe even stated that he would leave the UFC if Dana White ends his relationship with the company. Hence, the statement from Dana was an attempt to provide the hoax with some credibility.
The statement read, “The entire UFC family is devastated to hear of Joe Rogan’s passing…Our thoughts and prayers are with his family she loved ones, and we will make sure to continue his legacy. – Dana White” (h/t via New York Post)

So how did Rogan respond to the reports in 2022? Joe is also quite immersed in extra-terrestrial matters and extremely interested in finding out whether aliens are real or not. On his Instagram account, he shared a screenshot of a report regarding UFOs. After the death hoax, Rogan quote tweeted his Instagram post and simply wrote, “I’m pregnant.” While he did not address the rumors directly, his tweet disproved the hoax.
Joe Rogan is no stranger to controversies
The famous comedian and UFC host, Joe Rogan faces a death hoax almost on a monthly basis. Every time there is a UFC PPV, the comments sections during the weigh-in and press conference videos on YouTube get filled with “RIP Joe Rogan” comments. While it started out as a joke amongst MMA fans, it has become an unmissable ritual.
Joe Rogan has been busy with a lot of controversies. Recently, his father came out and slammed Rogan for allegedly spreading lies about him. On top of that, Rogan also caught the fans’ wrath after the 55-year-old supported beer company Bud Light’s partnership with transgender model, Dylan Mulvaney. In 2022, his comments on the COVID-19 pandemic and the use of some racial slurs caused a massive stir.
But despite all the negative press, Joe retained his $200 million Spotify deal. He also earns a hefty $50,000 salary for his UFC appearances and currently has a reported net worth of $120 million. No matter how controversial of a figure Joe is, his influence and marketability only seems to be increasing.
