Francis Ngannou has become a global star after his stellar boxing debut against Tyson Fury. The Former UFC Heavyweight Champion is the talk of the town in the heavyweight division. However, the fans were worried about whether he would be able to find a worthy opponent in the PFL or not. Recently, PFL’s chairman revealed that Ngannou is expected to fight Deontay Wilder.
During his recent appearance on the MMA Hour, he revealed that ‘The Predator’ will most likely be fighting heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder in a mixed-rules fight in 2024. Furthermore, this fight will take place under the PFL banner. “I still think that it will be a mixed-rules fight, and I still think Deontay Wilder is the most likely opponent,” said Donn Davis.

Furthermore, he claimed that the second and third options for Francis are not very compelling as compared to ‘The Bronze Bomber’. This announcement of the potential fight by the PFL chairman has all the MMA fans excited, and they have started to talk about this potential fight.

“One leg kick, how much (are) we betting,” said another Instagram user. “Hope he’s practicing checking leg kicks,” added another user. It looks like fans are giving Deontay Wilder a zero chance in a mixed-rules fight. However, Wilder has been showing a lot of interest in MMA these days.
It will be interesting to see how this fight plays out. However, this fight might be delayed, according to the PFL chairman, due to a specific reason.

“I think it changes the timeline, not the possibility,” said Davis. Furthermore, he said that he doesn’t want to force “less compelling” options for Francis in order to get a fight in Q1. According to the statements made by the PFL chairman, it looks like this super fight will most likely take place in the fourth quarter of 2024.
