Valve Software, the firm behind one of the most successful game distribution platforms on the market, Steam, has recently made a new statement. The firm is renaming its Steam Game Festival to Steam Next Fest, according to this release. Furthermore, the business revealed a timetable for the return of Steam Next Fest. Valve has said that the Next Fest will begin on June 16. The festival will last six days, concluding on June 22nd. The Schedule and its previous editions
The schedule for Steam Next Fest, formerly known as Steam Game Festival, has been released, as have the specifics.
This year’s Steam Next Fest is the second edition of Valve’s game showcase event. It held the first edition of the Game Festival on February 2021 Edition last month. The upcoming Fest, like the one that took place last month, will promote unpublished and future video games. The fest, which focuses on showcasing new and upcoming titles, is likely in its eighth incarnation. The first edition, The Game Fest, took place in December 2019, with the Spring Edition following in March 2020.

Digital Events due to the pandemic
With Covid-19 still on the line, It will not be the only digital event going place this summer. It’s clear that E3 has returned as a totally online event in summer, but GDC will host digital events all year. Valve’s decision to use some of the customary summer spotlight to emphasize its own platform and the developers on it seem to be a clear choice, but it appears to be another big challenge for E3, which has never faced this kind of direct rivalry for viewers before.
