Serena Williams is a 23–time Grand Slam champion from USA. She holds the record for the most Grand Slam titles in singles, doubles and mixed doubles among all active players. Serena is one of the best players in the world and her records speaks for herself.
Even though she has all these immaculate performances she has not won any Grand Slam from 2017. Serena withdrew from playing professional tennis after her hamstring injury in the 2021 Wimbledon opener.
Williams is yet to be back on the court after a hamstring injury which forced her to withdraw from the 2020 US Open. She withdrew from the 2021 Australia Open and is spending most of her time training and is spending time with the family.

Serena Williams hints at 2022 Wimbledon Open return
Serena Williams has not competed in the tennis circuit since Wimbledon 2021. She withdrew from the tournament as she suffered a hamstring injury to her right leg in her first round match. Her hamstring discomfort kept her off the field for months. Serena also had to withdraw from the US Open due to her injury as she did not fully recover.
According to her team, Serena has not yet recovered due to which she could not participate in the 2022 French Open. She is determined to return to the tennis court and has teased her return in the 2022 Wimbledon Open.
Hinting at a possible Wimbledon Open return, in the recent Instagram post, Serena Williams wrote a cryptic message for her fans. She wrote, “I’m thinking of something that may make you go bananas … stay tuned!”
Seeing the post, fans around the world started speculating on her possible return to court. One fan wrote, “Are you playing Wimbledon or not? And don’t lie.” Some of them speculating Serena to get a wild card for Wimbledon, “It better be a Wimbledon WC mama.”

The Wimbledon Open organisers released the entry list for the tournament few days ago. The list missed big names like the Williams sisters and Roger Federer. It is possible that Serena could request a wild-card invitation to the Grand Slam tournament, which begins on June 27.
The Wimbledon Open organisers said on their official website, “Wild cards for the Qualifying Competition and Main Draw events will be announced shortly before The Championships 2022. Seedings for The Championships 2022 will be announced shortly before the Fortnight and follow world ranking.”
