The Paris Masters is almost coming to an end as players gear up for the final stages of the season. The quarterfinal stages are set to begin in Paris. But there have been problems for the players at the event. Jannik Sinner has withdrawn from the event after his third-round match finished late. Sinner beat Mackenzie McDonald in a match that started at midnight and ended at two in the morning.
Sinner had less than 12 hours to prepare for his fourth-round match against Alex de Minaur. The Italian issued a walkover, citing his physical health. His fellow players gathered to show support for the youngster. Stan Wawrinka and Casper Ruud took a stance against the event organizers for failing to take care of player’s health.
It’s crazy 🤦🏻♂️tournament doesn’t care and ATP just follow what the tournament will want 🤷🏻♂️! Always the same story …

Ruud and Warinka mentioned that it has always been the same on the ATP tour. Both players insisted that players needed to rest between the matches. Meanwhile, a drained-out Sinner said he needed to rest to be fit for the Nitto ATP Finals and the Davis Cup. He will be leading the charge for Italy and will be expected to turn around the stakes in November during the knockout matches.
Jannik Sinner hoping to be the key player for Italy at Davis Cup
The final eight of the Davis Cup will clash again next month for the crown. The draws have been fixed as Italy will face Netherlands in the quarterfinals. Both teams have played eight ties against each other. Italy leads the wins with seven wins. Meanwhile, the Netherlands last recorded a victory over Italy in 1923, their first-ever meeting. The teams last played in 2010 when Italy beat the Netherlands 4-1.
Sinner will be the man to beat in singles, as he has been one of the best players this season. The world No.4 has played seven singles matches at the Davis Cup and has won six. He has played three doubles matches and has lost all of them. Sinner can face tough competition against Tallon Griekspoor. The pair played their first match at Rotterdam this season, which Sinner won in straight sets.
Sinner reacts to his withdrawal, reminding his two main goals till the end of the season: ATP Finals at home and Davis Cup Finals, where Italy has a shot for the title for sure… https://t.co/nenj2qzTZQ

Italy has a strong team, with Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti heading the singles competition. They also have Lorenzo Sonego to boost up the singles win for backup. The squad has been struggling in doubles as Simone Bolelli has not found a suitable teammate. Italy is depending on Sinner to make no mistakes in the opening matches.
