David Alaba broke the record in 2010. In addition, he made history as the first German player to win the coveted title from two different clubs when Real Madrid clinched the Champions League in 2015–16.

He has been chosen three times for both, the UEFA Team of the Year and the FIFPro World XI. In 2014, he was also recognized as the IFFHS World’s Best Playmaker. He was included in the 2014 FIFA World Cup All-Star Team because of his performances.
