Real Madrid brushes aside FC Barcelona in the Supercopa final
The Spanish club Real Madrid defeated fellow rivals FC Barcelona in the final to lift their 13th Supercopa de Espana trophy. The Los Blancos’ number seven and in-form winger Vinicius Junior scored a magnificent hat-trick. With the help of his three goals, the Los Blancos were able to stamp their authority on the match.
Barcelona did try to fight back with a goal from their forward Robert Lewandowski in the first half of the match itself. But, a 64th-minute goal by Real Madrid’s Rodrygo killed any chances of a Barca comeback. The final score went in favor of the Los Blancos as they emerged victorious by 4-1.

The final match also saw Barcelona going down to 10 men. Their defender Ronald Araujo saw a red card in the 71st minute of the game. This further killed any chances for them to attack in numbers and try to score goals. Going down to ten men, restricted Barca to mostly defending the opposition’s attack for the last quarter of the match.
It turned out to be a comfortable victory for the Los Blancos. Their fans would be happy after seeing their team dominate Barcelona in the final match. It remains to be seen whether the club can carry this momentum with them in the La Liga. The team’s manager Carlo Ancelotti would want his side to cement their place at the top of the La Liga 2023-2024 season table.
