However, when the Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo went back to Manchester United for his second stint, things didn’t quite work out for him. Initially, CR7 was off to a good start in his comeback at the Red Devils. But, slowly, things started to turn gloomy for the veteran at the club.
The number seven was being dropped out of the team and was being benched in certain important matches. CR7 wasn’t quite getting along with United’s manager Erik ten Hag as well. There were reportedly issues regarding differences of opinion in the dressing room.
The 38-year-old then departed the club in November 2022 via mutual consent. However, taking into notice the devastating loss of Manchester United against rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford recently. British broadcaster and television personality Piers Morgan made things worse for United manager Erik ten Hag by stating something related to CR7.

The 58-year-old wrote on one of his social media accounts, “As Manchester United get humiliated by City at home, a reminder that Erik ten Hag drove Cristiano out of the club and said he would lose no sleep over it”. Morgan continued and stated, “The same Cristiano has since scored 43 goals for club and country this year”.
In conclusion of his statement, by pointing toward Erik ten Hag, he inflicted “The guy’s a total fraud”. CR7 has been performing well both on the club and the country level. The veteran has also turned out to be a consistent goal-scorer for his Saudi Pro League side, Al-Nassr.

Before exiting the club on mutual consent, things got worse between the Portuguese number seven and Manchester United‘s manager Erik ten Hag. Ronaldo was reportedly dropped from United’s crucial Premier League fixture against Chelsea. The player also wasn’t introduced on the pitch during the club’s match against Tottenham Hotspur.
However, the manager was of the opinion that he wanted to bring on the player. Erik stated that CR7 didn’t want to come on and refused to do so. The former Red Devils number seven stated in one of his interviews, “I don’t have respect for him (Erik ten Hag) because he doesn’t show respect for me”. The player further inflicted that he felt “betrayed” at the club.
He was of the opinion that the club’s hierarchy was trying to make him leave the club. The Portuguese expressed that “not only the coach” but also some other people in the hierarchy were involved. The veteran’s exit from the club was a sour one for his fans to take as well. They would hope that he continues to perform well in the present.
