Pep Guardiola has once again etched himself into the record books by breaking yet another Premier League record. Guardiola is widely renowned as one of the greatest managers of not just this generation but of all time. The Spanish coach’s trophy cabinet is filled with titles won by three different clubs. Most recently, he broke a record that was previously held by another illustrious soccer manager.
As reported by ESPN, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has become the quickest manager to reach 200 Premier League wins. Guardiola, who joined Manchester City back in 2016, needed only 269 games to achieve this record.
The only Premier League coach who even comes close to Guardiola’s record is legendary Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson (322 games) who achieved this feat back in September 2000.

Pep Guardiola set to miss Manchester City’s games due to a back injury
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola will remain absent from the sidelines for some time due to his back injury. The former Bayern Munich coach has been suffering from a back problem for quite some time now.
A week ago, Guardiola underwent surgery to treat his ailing back. As a result, he was not present during Manchester City’s league win against Sheffield United.
During Pep Guardiola’s absence, his assistant Juanma Lillo will take over the former’s duties. Although with important matches against Arsenal and Manchester United coming up soon in October, the 2023 Premier League winners will hope to have their coach back soon.
While Guardiola is recovering from his surgery in Barcelona, it’s expected that he will return by the middle or end of September.
