The Premier League 2023/24 season has come to a fascinating end. After 10 months of continuous action, the Premier League title has once again found its home at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City have made history by winning their fourth title in a row and their sixth in seven years. City’s triumph takes their league title tally to eighth behind only city rivals, Manchester United.
Pep Guardiola and his team’s triumph does come at the expense of Arsenal. Mikel Arteta’s side enjoyed a fine Premier League season, producing consistent displays. The London club finished the campaign with 89 points, two behind the eventual champions. The GunnersΒ beat Everton with a late goal on the final matchday but unfortunately, that was not enough to turn the fate of the Premier League crown.

Arsenal have witnessed a splendid rise in recent years. From struggling to qualify for the European competitions, the club is now back to competing for the domestic accolades. Mikel Arteta will be confident in the club’s project and ambition to yield silverware in the upcoming seasons. With several world-class players already in the squad and more being targetted, the future does look promising for Arsenal.
Arsenal’s victory over Everton mocked by fans
Arsenal managed a 2-1 victory over Merseyside club, Everton on matchday 38. After going behind in the first half, Arsenal showed resiliency and fought back to earn the win thanks to Kai Havertz’s last-minute goal. Ultimately, the result had little bearing on the Premier League title as Manchester City eased to a 3-1 win over West Ham. The fans of the other teams in the league did enjoy mocking the GunnersΒ in what was a consolation victory.

The conclusion to the 2023/24 season will surely leave a bitter taste amongst the Arsenal fanbase. The London club has once again finished a season without any major trophy. Arsenal fans will hope that the players and coaching staff can take their lessons from this campaign and return next season in a better way having learned from them.
Rodri praises Manchester City’s mentality after Premier League title win
Manchester City found themselves in a spot of bother in the Premier League table after their draw with Arsenal in late March. At that moment, Arsenal’s chances of winning the title were firmly in their own hands with City keenly chasing them. However, as has been the case in recent seasons, City proved to be too good in the end and captured the crown.
Amongst his many tactical abilities, Pep Guardiola is regarded as one of the most demanding coaches in the world. After more than eight years with City, his thirst for success is now shared equally by his players. Despite their unmatched success recently, the Mancunian club is never satisfied. βThe difference between us and Arsenal was the mentality. When Arsenal came to the Etihad I felt βthese guys donβt want to beat us, they just want to drawβ – that mentality, we wouldnβt do that.”, Rodri has perfectly described the culture that runs at Manchester City.
Rodri: βI think the difference was here [the mentality]. When @Arsenal came here at the Etihad, I saw them. Ah, these guys, they donβt want to beat us, they just want to draw. And that mentality, we wouldnβt do it the same wayβ¦β [via @OptusSport]pic.twitter.com/xbrB8cj6TW

Pep Guardiola’s well-oiled machine shows no sign of stopping with a continued desire to accomplish new heights. The mentality and mindset will undoubtedly blessΒ the CityzensΒ with even more silverware in the future.
