SUMMARY
- Manchester City faced Fluminense for the club world cup finals.
- City beat Fluminense by 4-0
Fluminense’s Felipe Melo and Manchester City’s Kyle Walker engaged in a fierce brawl following the FIFA Club World Cup final. After tremendous anticipation, Manchester City defeated Fluminense with a decisive score of 4-0 to end the highly anticipated game. But it turned into a heated argument between two players rather than a celebration of soccer.
But Melo argued that Jack Grealish, a soccer player for Manchester City, chanted the term “ole” at the beginning of the brawl. “In the game against Gremio, I calmly went to ask the athlete celebrating with their fans. And they ended up creating a mess. And I didn’t want a mess. Today Grealish was disrespectful towards the Fluminense institution and I will never let that happen,” said Melo regarding the incident.

Another soccer star Marcelo also put forward his views on Jack Grealish’s antics and said, “Everyone does what they want. He has one title(club world cup) and I have four.” This was a clear dig and also a flex at Jack Grealish and Manchester City FC by the Fluminense star. Marcelo has been a legend of the sport and the anger justifies his love for the game, especially after losing a prestigious tournament final drastically.
It remains to be seen what happens next with Manchester City FC and Marcelo’s Fluminense in their respective leagues. As for Man City, they have to be at their flying best in the English Premier League if they were to achieve any glory this season. On the other hand, Fluminense can enjoy a much-needed break after participating in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Marcelo opens up on Club World Cup final loss
Brazil was unable to withstand Manchester City’s dominance (4-0), which gave Portuguese players Rúben Dias, Bernardo Silva, and Matheus Nunes cause for celebration. They played extremely well and won their first-ever FIFA Club World Cup title in the club’s history.
After Fluminense’s 4-0 loss to Manchester City in the Club World Cup final, Marcelo rushed to social media on Saturday to post a statement expressing his “pride” in his squad despite the tragic result. The legendary soccer star was full of support for his teammates and his club after the damning 4-0 loss to Manchester City and a vile bust-up post-match between Felipe Melo and Kyle Walker taking place.

Marcelo also wrote, “Maximum pride in this team. I feel privileged to experience this with my Fluminense. Thank you very much to all the tricolor supporters who backed us until the end,” he commenced writing. “Fluminense is GIANT and is at the highest position,” added the former Real Madrid star.
It is important to keep in mind that the 35-year-old defender played for Fluminense before coming to Europe in 2006. He would go on to play for Real Madrid until 2022 and Olympiacos for a brief time before returning to Brazil. He is regarded as one of the best left-backs/full-backs to ever grace the sport, soccer fans love and respect him a lot and are still in awe of his skillset with the ball even at this age.
