The workers of the Fairmont Miramar hotel where the Lionel Messi and Inter Miami players will be accommodated have asked the players to stay out of the hotel’s establishment. The union hopes that their statement will be followed and supported.

Inter Miami’s fortune has taken a turn since Lionel Messi joined the club. The Argentine wizard has netted eleven goals for Miami in just ten appearances for the MLS club. Messi’s stats also include three assists during these ten outings for Miami.
The Argentine helped the Herons win their first Leagues Cup trophy. The club added to it by reaching the finals of the US Open Cup. The soccer fraternity is stunned by the impact that the former Barcelona player has had on the popularity of MLS.
The pass required to watch the Major League Soccer games has touched the one million subscriber count in July 2023. The average ticket fare increased by a thousand percent for Messi’s season debut against New York Red Bulls.
What could be the reason behind the workers of the Fairmont Miramar Hotel urging Messi and Inter Miami to stay out of the establishment?
As quoted by a workers union at the hotel – “We have learned that the Inter Miami and great Lionel Messi are coming to Los Angeles this week for a match against LAFC this weekend. As Housekeepers, cooks, and servers we ask Lionel Messi and his teammates to stand in solidarity with us and stay out of the Fairmont Miramar”.

This has emerged amid the strikes by workers for an increase in pay due to the rising housing costs in the city. Better wages have been demanded by the workers and employees. This can create a massive problem for the organizers ahead of the match.
Currently, Inter Miami’s hierarchy has not responded to the quote made by the workers union group. It remains to be seen whether an official statement is being handed out by the club’s management. The supporters will be hoping that the match between Inter Miami CF and Los Angeles FC takes place. Fans won’t want the saga leading to the cancellation of the game.
