However, the England player is reportedly close to finalizing his transfer to FC Seoul, per Sky Sports. According to the reports, he has verbally agreed to a two-year contract with a third-year option. It’s also said that joining a Korean club was the most interesting alternative that he might have chosen.

Since leaving Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2022–23, when his deal with the Premier League club expired, Lingard has not played in the league. Since then, he has been connected to several teams, but no agreement has come to pass.
The 31-year-old spent one-month training with Al-Ettifaq of Saudi Arabia, but Steven Gerrard’s squad decided not to sign him. He has been posting videos of himself practicing alone as he gets ready to return to the game. He said, “So, they let a couple of players go out on loan, but when it came to me, John Murtough rang and said, ‘No, you’re not going on loan.’ I was like, ‘Well, he’s gone on loan – let me go and enjoy my football as I’m not playing here.’ He asked, ‘What do you want, days off?’ and I said, ‘No, I just want to go and play football'”.
Following a difficult departure from Manchester United, Lingard made a free move to Nottingham Forest. However, his 1-year stint at Forest was not up to the level that they had hoped for, and he was released by the club at the end of the 2022-23 season.

He further added, “They’re so behind on everything. You see City’s facilities, Tottenham’s facilities… people are miles ahead.” Lingard had been with Manchester United since their academy days and was a crucial player for them from 2015 to 2018.
