Lionel Messi has put Inter Miami one step closer to winning their second-ever title in their history. After winning the Leagues Cup, Messi’s Inter Miami faced FC Cincinnati in the US Open Cup semifinal. Despite trailing for most parts of the match, Messi scripted a dramatic comeback. However, Inter Miami’s comeback didn’t go down well with the popular YouTuber IShowSpeed.
Days after spending his time at the hospital with an eye infection, IShowSpeed was in the stands to watch Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami take on FC Cincinnati in the US Open Cup semifinal. The American YouTuber has been going through a rough patch, after being severely trolled for exposing himself on a live stream. However, the Cristiano Ronaldo fan was about to have a moment of joy watching Messi lose against FC Cincinnati.

IShowSpeed was even more elated at the fact that Messi’s first Inter Miami defeat would be in Ohio, Speed’s hometown. However, with the game almost finished, the Argentine star managed to provide an inch-perfect ball for Leonardo Campana to score. Unable to contain himself, Speed said, “No way! I am done! What the f**k! Every time! Messi comes back every time!“
Meanwhile, Speed’s reaction was similar to that of every FC Cincinnati fan present in the stadium. Despite showing their dominance over the entire course of the match, they still succumbed to Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami. As things stand, Inter Miami will now face Houston Dynamo in the US Open Cup final, which will be held on September 27.
Lionel Messi drags Inter Miami to yet another final
Lionel Messi’s fairytale start to life at Inter Miami continues as they reached yet another final. If Messi is not scoring for Inter Miami, then he is providing assists. Inter Miami’s clash with FC Cincinnati was not for the faint-hearted. The Herons conceded early after Luciano Acosta’s 18th-minute goal. Cincinnati’s Brandon Vazquez added the second in the 53rd minute.
Inter Miami, however, got one back in the 68th minute when Leonardo Campana scored from Messi’s free kick. With Cincinnati squandering chances and his side failing to create any, Lionel Messi took matters into his own hands. In the dying moments of the match, Messi provided an inch-perfect pass for Campana again who headed home the equalizer.

As the game stretched into extra time, both Inter Miami and FC Cincinnati scored their third goal courtesy of Josef Martinez and Yuya Kubo respectively. With the score remaining 3-3 after 120 minutes of action-packed soccer, the game went to the penalty shootout. In the shootout, Inter Miami goalkeeper Drake Callender once again turned out to be the hero, as his save brought his side to the brink of winning their second-ever trophy.
