Mason Greenwood has hit the headlines again after last year he was arrested for alleged domestic violence. Yesterday, however, all the charges against him were dropped and the Prosecution Council said that there will be no further investigation into the 22-year-old Englishman. Although many fans are very unhappy with the progress of the matter and how it has been dismissed now.
The young Manchester United star was arrested last year after his partner Harriet Robson was reportedly assaulted by Mason himself. Mason was charged with attempted rape, coercive behavior, and physical assault on her. A video went viral from Harriet’s Instagram story. There she uploaded a video of herself getting bleeding from her nose down to her lower body. The video was very graphic and disgusted the soccer fans a lot.
Greenwood was arrested on January 22 of last year after the allegations were made. He got out on bail pretty quickly, but the court orders strongly asked him not to make any contact with the victim. However, Mason did exactly what was prohibited and was back in police custody. After further legal proceedings, a trial was set to be taken place on November 27 of this year.

Although the charges have been dropped, Manchester United has said that he cannot return to training. Well-known journalist Simon Stone said, “Man Utd to hold an internal investigation into how allegations ended up being made. No timescale on the process. Mason Greenwood will not play or train until this is complete,” about the club’s stance on the current situation.
Fans disgusted as Mason Greenwood reportedly violated bail breaches without consequences
When Mason approved bail for the first time, the court orders clearly stated that he cannot make any attempt to contact Harriet. Greenwood’s lawyer David Toal admitted to the order violation. He said, “I absolutely concede it is his responsibility to abide by all bail conditions imposed.” He stated in the court, “Contact has occurred for many months,” about the breach of orders.
Toal didn’t keep any secrets from him and revealed that the Greater Manchester Police knew about it but didn’t do anything. District Judge Mark Hadfield was left awed by the findings and he was concerned by them. He said “What I am being told is the defendant flagrantly breached the conditions over weeks or even months and police haven’t done anything about it,” about the proceedings.

A viral Reddit post was particularly vocal about this issue. One fan comment said, “At his first court appearance, it was revealed Greenwood had breached a condition of his bail not to contact the alleged victim in the case. That’s exactly what you don’t want to happen in those cases ffs,” with disgust.
Another comment said, “Really disgusting that he hasn’t been charged with this, given his council admit it in a court of law,” about the case. One angry fan commented, “That is fucking ridiculous. Man arrested for coercion allowed to continue coercion while on bail. Fuck off,” with sheer anger. One fan replied to that, “How is that not witness tampering etc.?” confused about the law.
In short soccer fans are widely outraged about the ignorance of the country’s law and order. And they are not afraid to show their disgust and unhappiness surrounding the very situation.
