A controversial video of Pep Guardiola has gone viral as he is seen being racist in an interview. Intentional or not, there is no way to know, however, whatever Guardiola said could be seen in a negative light. Fans have not spared him for his words. One fan said outright, “he [Guardiola] can’t hide his racism”.
During a press conference in 2018, Guardiola said, “My kids go to school with Indian people, black people, normal people, people from everywhere.”

The concern that many fans have shown is that it seems like Guardiola does not consider ‘Indian’ and ‘Black’ people as ‘normal people’. One of them commented, “Man just called anyone who is not white abnormal”.
One fan questioned, “So the black is not normal?”
On the other hand, one fan claimed, “Bruv gonna get canceled soon.”
Another fan talked about a sensitive issue that has been dragging on for Guardiola. He has been accused in the past of not having good relations with dark-skinned players. Therefore, one fan stated, “Then he proceeded to sell every black player in his team last summer and replaced them with white players.”
However, it has to be noted that English is not Guardiola’s first language. We cannot be certain that the Manchester City manager meant what the fans are claiming he meant. It might just be that he would have thought it out in a different way.
Yaya Toure accused Pep Guardiola of racism in 2018
According to a report published by The Guardian in June 2018, Yaya Toure accused Guardiola of “having problems with Africans wherever he goes”.
The former Ivory Coast player attacked the City manager in an interview with France Football magazine. Toure left City in May of 2018 after eight seasons at the club.
“He [Guardiola] insists he has no problems with black players because he is too intelligent to be caught out,” Touré said in an interview with France Football. “But when you realize that he has problems with Africans, wherever he goes, I ask myself questions. He will never admit it. But the day he will line up a team in which we find five Africans, not naturalized, I promise I will send him a cake.”
Yaya Touré to France Football: “He [Pep Guardiola] was cruel with me. Do you really think he could’ve been like that with Iniesta? It got to the point I asked myself if it was because of my colour. I’m not the first, other Barça players asked the question too.” pic.twitter.com/SL0GJrHjmf

A day after this report, Kevin de Bruyne defended his manager. He said, “I never saw something. It would be weird if the trainer was racist – with all the black guys in our team,” the Belgian told BBC World Football. “So I don’t know what Yaya said or if it’s wrongly written or exaggerated. When you don’t play there’s always something you try to find.”
However, in 2021, Toure revealed that he wrote a letter of apology to his former manager at Barcelona and City.
“I want to apologize for what happened, I want to apologize for doing something wrong.”
Toure admitted he was wrong in his beliefs. In an interview with The Athletic, he apologized for his comments on Guardiola. He stated that he was wrong and he is apologizing for doing something wrong.
