Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain’s journey together will come to an end in the coming weeks. The Frenchman communicated his decision to leave the club in the summer to the fanbase in recent days. Mbappe has already featured in his final game at the Parc des Princes for PSG and is now preparing himself for a new chapter in his career.
Following his official announcement, Mbappe proceeded to meet the PSG Ultras for the final time before leaving the club. The Ultras appreciated and respected the striker’s decision. During the game against Toulouse in Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes, they showed their gratitude to Mbappe by displaying a message for him, “A child of the Paris suburbs, you have become a PSG legend.” The 25-year-old made sure to thank the Ultras after the game for their show of appreciation.

However, the rest of the Paris Saint-Germain fanbase did not follow the Ultras in their decision to honor Mbappe in his final home game. Even from the official side of the club, there were no tributes to their highest-ever goalscorer. Mbappe later commented, “Surprised that I wasn’t subbed out to get a last ovation from the Parc? I’m not surprised of anything anymore.” His comments display that the tensions between him and the club have still not calmed down.
A look at Kylian Mbappe’s time with Paris Saint-Germain
Kylian Mbappe arrived at PSG from Monaco in the summer of 2017. What was initially a loan deal was then converted to a permanent transfer for a hefty fee of around $200 million in 2018. Since then, Mbappe has established himself as one of the best players in the world. The forward has been through various challenging phases during his time with PSG but has come out on top more often than not.

The Frenchman will leave the club as their highest-ever goalscorer. He has been a part of five Ligue 1 championship wins with the Parisian club. Individually too, Mbappe has dominated France, winning five consecutive Player of the Year awards as well as six Ligue 1 golden boots. The Champions League trophy, however, has evaded the French captain during his time with PSG which is considered one of the factors in his decision to leave the club.
Real Madrid to make Kylian Mbappe transfer official after UCL final
The eventual transfer of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid is one of the worst-kept secrets in soccer. After years of failed attempts, the two parties finally look to make their association with each other official. It is argued that all the necessary formalities and negotiations are already complete regarding the Mbappe transfer. Madrid has followed the tradition in recent years of not making any summer transfers official before their season ends.

As reported by the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid is planning for a special announcement for their latest superstar signing. However, Florentino Perez has no intention to do so before the club’s Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund in early June. The reasoning behind delaying the announcement is to keep the current squad’s focus completely on achieving victory in the final.
