Amid whispers of Gareth Bale coming back from retirement to join Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham, the former Real Madrid legend has finally cleared the air. In a recent award ceremony, Bale was asked if he was tempted to come out of retirement and play soccer again for Wrexham. To which, the Welsh replied, “No I don’t think so. I think I was looking more for a free round of golf off Rob.” He further added, “I’m sure we’ll have a chat and a joke but I’m quite happy where I am.”

The rumors of Gareth making a return to soccer started taking place when he sent Wrexham and its owners a message of congratulations as they sealed the promotion back to the football league. The former Wales captain congratulated co-owner Rob McElhenney as he smiled and said “Hi Rob, just want to congratulate you on your promotion and everything you’re doing at Wrexham.”
McElhenney responded, “Hey Gareth Bale let’s play golf, where I totally won’t spend 4 hours trying to convince you to un-retire for one last magical season.” Not only Rob but the Deadpool actor and co-owner of Wrexham, Ryan Reynolds has also endorsed this idea. He posted a photoshopped image of Gareth Bale in Wrexham colors with the caption, “What if…”

But Bale’s recent statement has sent a crystal clear message to Ryan Reynolds and Wrexham. He has made it clear that he has no intentions of coming out of retirement and that he is finally able to spend quality time with his family, something that was not possible when he was playing soccer.
Ben Foster reveals what happened during a late-night party in Ryan Reynolds’ box
In his podcast “Fozcast“, Ben Foster has revealed how Ryan and McElhenney invited them up to their box at the Racecourse Ground. “We went over to Rob and Ryan’s box, and that was it. ‘Crack on’ basically,” Further explaining what happened that night, Foster said “We stayed in there until about midnight, pure vibes honestly. It was so good. Music playing, but we didn’t have a speaker system.
“And then at midnight we went for a little walk around Wrexham, went to a few bars and pubs, but it was carnage. There were players everywhere, fans everywhere, but nobody cared.” It was certainly the club’s biggest achievement but the co-owners are not done just yet.

While Gareth Bale has made it clear he will not be joining Wrexham, Ben Foster could be tempted into signing an extension. The former Manchester United goalkeeper initially joined the Welsh club on an emergency short-term contract, but given the progress the club has achieved in such a short period of time under the new owners, Foster could play in Wrexham colors for one more season.
