Alejandro Garnacho has taken over the Internet after scoring a wonder goal during Manchester United’s game against Everton on November 26. During United’s 3-0 Premier League victory against Everton, Garnacho scored a 3rd-minute sumptuous bicycle kick goal that has drawn comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo. However, there has been a rumor circulating that Garnacho was fined by coach Erik ten Hag after the game.
According to ‘@centerdevils‘, Erik ten Hag placed a £150,000 ($190,000) fine after Alejandro Garnacho’s goal against Everton. After scoring the goal, Garnacho imitated Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic ‘Siuuu’ celebration. This has been rumored to be the reason behind ten Hag imposing a fine on Garnacho. The rumors suggested that ten Hag has banned the United players from imitating Ronaldo’s celebration.

The ‘@centerdevils’ also cited the Daily Mail and British journalist Piers Morgan as the sources behind the reports. However, no such reports have been published by either the Daily Mail or Piers Morgan. While ten Hag and Ronaldo may have had their problems in the past, there are no credible reports that state that Erik ten Hag has banned Ronaldo’s celebration.
Erik ten Hag hails Alejandro Garnacho for scoring “the goal of the season”
Following Manchester United‘s 3-0 win over Everton, Erik ten Hag was all praise for Alejandro Garnacho. It was a much-needed win for United, who are currently placed sixth in the Premier League table. Speaking after the match, ten Hag praised the United forward. He said, “The season, still many games to play, but probably already the goal of the season“.
Ten Hag, however, refused to put too much pressure on the 20-year-old soccer star. Soon after Garnacho scored the goal, there were comparisons of his goal with Ronaldo’s goal against Juventus in 2018 and Wayne Rooney’s goal against Manchester City in 2011. The former Ajax coach refused to put much importance on such comparisons and insisted that Garnacho has a long way to go.
Ten Hag stated that Garnacho needs to score 20-25 goals in a season to be compared to Ronaldo or Rooney. However, the 53-year-old coach also praised Garnacho and stated that the Argentine youngster has tremendous potential. He said that if Garnacho works hard, utilizes his potential, and performs consistently, he could reach the same pedestal as Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.
