The soccer giants FC Barcelona are looking to find a successor for their legendary striker, Robert Lewandowski. The reason seems to be pretty simple: as Lewandowski is currently 35 years old, the veteran striker’s best years are going to come to an end.
According to reports, Barcelona already has a target in the transfer market to replace Lewandowski in the coming years. The Swedish International, Alexander Isak, who plays as a striker for the Premier League club Newcastle United, seems like a good option for Barcelona. Isak doesn’t seem like a bad option for Barcelona, as he has already proven himself in the toughest league in the world. The Swedish striker joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022. It has been a dream start for Isak at Newcastle, and his stats definitely support that argument.

He has netted a total of 12 goals and given two assists since joining the Magpies. Furthermore, he was a very big factor in Newcastle getting into the top four and qualifying for the Champions League last season.

Moreover, Isak is known for his incredible dribbling and pace, which makes him a very attractive option for Barcelona. He can not only score goals but has the creative acumen to create them as well. In games where there is not much happening, he tends to make himself available in the middle of the field to create opportunities.

Lewandowski signed a contract until 2026 with Barcelona. Since the start of his tenure with Barcelona, he has scored a total of 26 goals and given 10 assists. These are incredible numbers considering he joined them just last season. He seems to have ‘Goals in his blood’.
Despite Lewandowski being in his prime, Barcelona are practical, and they know that he is 35 years old. Thus, they are looking for options in the market who can replace Lewandowski in the future. And the popular name Alexander Isak is on their list. With a market value of $74 million, it will not be easy for Barca to secure the signing of Isak in the upcoming seasons.
