The ex-girlfriend of Manchester United’s player Antony, Gabriela Cavallin, is demanding the winger be suspended from the team. Gabriela further suggests that Antony should not be treated differently than his former teammate, Mason Greenwood.
On September 6, Manchester United issued an official statement regarding the matters surrounding Antony. The club quoted, “We are aware of the allegations against Antony. The club is aware of the fact that the authorities are conducting further inquiries. Pending any further update or information, we would not make any further statements.”
After this statement by the club, Gabriela Cavallin came out with her own statements and model quotes: “Why did it take a club like Manchester United, three months to come out with any sort of statement? I prefer not to believe that a club with such a professional hierarchy, will suppress an issue like this. It’s disheartening to see the player is still allowed to play when the investigations are being conducted.”

The Brazilian influencer further said, “Antony has to be suspended. I will never give up. If an action was taken against his teammate Mason Greenwood, Antony should not be treated differently.” Earlier, Manchester United and Mason Greenwood agreed on mutual terms that the player would not play for the club again.
The 23-year-old accused Antony of domestic abuse. Her legal representatives filed a complaint against the player. The evidence in relation to videos, photos, and witnesses lies with the Sao Paulo court in Brazil.
Antony’s ex-girlfriend said that since May 2022, there have been instances of the Red Devils winger’s violence towards her. The model talked about Antony taking her passport, cutting her finger, headbutting her in a hotel, and punching her.
Will Antony be removed from Manchester United’s squad?
Earlier, Antony’s national team, Brazil, removed the player from their squad until further investigation. The team’s management was of the opinion, “In order to support the ongoing investigation process and protect the victim and the player, Antony has been removed from the Brazilian national team”.
Now that the athlete’s ex-girlfriend is making her demands clear for the player to be suspended from United’s squad as well, this could go down that way quickly. If the matter comes to the attention of the club’s hierarchy, they might have to act this way and suspend the winger.
Currently, as things stand, the Premier League club has not stamped on the decision to suspend the player. But the investigations and the matter have struck a chord with the management, and they are giving it due importance. However, if there are outcomes from the investigations deterring Antony, the club might be forced to take an immersive action.
