Shakira moved to Miami in the first half of 2023 after going through a tumultuous breakup with former FC Barcelona soccer star Pique. The couple have two sons together – Sasha and Milan. Shakira has moved to Miami with both of her children.
Reports suggest that the Texas man was a nuisance and a threat to Shakira and her children. In his social media posts, a man named Daniel John Valtier falsely claimed a relationship with Shakira. The 56-year-old further claimed they were married and had a family.
Valtier used to send packages to Shakira’s home which included wine bottles, chocolates, and toys. Shakira’s security was alerted after Valtier’s actions and he was arrested by the Miami Beach Police when he arrived outside Shakira’s home on Monday.
Valtier appeared in front of court on Tuesday and kept falsely claiming to be in a relationship with Shakira. According to WSVN, “She’s my wife. I speak to her all the time,” said Valtier
The judge responded, “No. sir, no sir. She is not your wife, she is not your wife, ok.”
Further, WSVN reports that the judge claimed Valtier was a threat to Shakira and he was ordered to stay away from her. The police claimed Valtier did not know Shakira or her family. He faces charges of stalking.
