Gerard Piqué Bernabeu is a retired Spanish professional soccer player born on February 2, 1987, in Barcelona, Spain. Piqué started his career at FC Barcelona’s esteemed youth academy, La Masia. 

He then moved to Premier League giants Manchester United in 2004. He won the Premier League, FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League during his stint at Old Trafford.

 He returned to Barcelona in 2008, where he played a significant role in their glorious title-winning campaigns, including the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Club World Cup. 

Piqué was also an essential part of the Spanish national team, having won the FIFA World Cup in 2010 and the UEFA European Championship in 2008 and 2012. He is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the world and a legendary figure in the football community.

Gerard Pique primarily played soccer in Spain throughout his career and made a fortune. His net worth is approximately $80 million according to reports. In 2017, Pique founded Kosmos Holding, a production-focused company with a sports-centered approach. 

He also owns two soccer clubs in Spain’s lower divisions – FC Andorra and Gimnastic Manresa. He has also recently started a new league called the King’s League in association with Twitch streamer Ibai Llanos.

Gerard Pique retirement 

The 36-year-old defender announced his retirement on the 3rd of November mid-season for Barcelona. He left Barcelona as a legend and made 616 appearances for the Blaugrana.

With limited playing time throughout his last season, he retired to make way for the youth at the club. He will be always remembered as one of the greatest defenders to grace the game.
